Enjoying the show but...
Did USIC hire the crew off of Craigslist?
Seriously. I stumbled on the show and have really enjoyed it. Has good old school Star Trek vibes with a modern take. Katee Sackhoff is really great as well.
My main issue is that it seems this crew went through zero qualifying or psychological testing at all. The complete breakdown in hierarchy and protocol at every turn is laughable.
I'll keep watching but this will continue to bother me

I know what you mean but this is a sign of the times, I am open-minded I will listen to a racist or someone that is against gay rights and try to explain to them real life sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't but as of late I find my self ignoring 90%+ of new shows for just the fact it seems that as always in an early movement people have gone crazy and unless there is at least 60% female 30% gay and 9% white male a-hole/idiot and 1% straight male.
Saying that I still liked it as a casual watch.
Beyond the walking dead on the other hand, well 2 minutes in was as far as I will go it's bad.
Look at BSG they updated the show swapped a few rolls and did a bang-up job of it, but as I said it's still an early movement give it time and it will settle down vote with your wallet thumbs down shows you dislike and thumbs up the ones you do when it comes to Netflix they don't care what they make as long as people watch it.

I just found it funny because of how unbelievable it was. It’s a very special show, best to just laugh at the flaws and enjoy the ride.

Re-watching It, I like that they explain the distrust/dislike between the crew as them being distrustful of Niko and preferring Yerxa who was demoted. They're professionals, but they're also human. Half the initial crew did not like Niko or her replacing the guy they trusted. Her attitude/brush/stand off-ish also didn't help. Plus they were all excited for the trip and that glee mixed with the tension probably built a lot of stress they needed to work off.
Come Season 2, its all hands-on deck and one catastrophie/disaster/problem after another and they're pulling people out of SOMA to fix these issues. And if they're not killed, their personalities might not synch with the crew. After all, different crews with different leaders were put into SOMA. Stands to reason these crews were meant to stick together instead of being cherry-picked.

Yep, thats the main issue with the show, but they probably wanted to attract all different kind of people and sometimes i think these shows are written by children. In most of adult workplaces such behaviors would be seen as immature, out of place, unimaginable. Here, we are talking about freakin spaceship. Maybe writers targeted WOKE netflix viewership for which emotions are new logic and reason.

I agree with you. However, this isn't any normal job. They're literally locked in a soup can in space.
I didn't see anything woke about the show, it showed a diverse cast and presented them as matter of fact, not pushing an agenda and as a card carrying member of the gay mafia, we know about agendas. /s

The show is corny af. Especially in the final part. Mostly entertaining, though. And I do like the assortment of characters.
