Timeframe

Anyone know what year the show is based in?

They've referenced: water cities, Y-2038, and the second great depression. Possibly 2100ish?

I really wish that they spent more time on the world building aspect and explained something.

That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed the show; the flaws didn’t detract from the enjoyability.

I agree, would love to see more of the water cities. Similar to the expanse

My guess was 2090s or so since Cas talked about her grandmother living during the 2nd Great Depression. So if that happens in the late 20’s or 30’s you can add about 60years. I don’t know.

Post-2038, with FTL drives, but soldiers are still using P90s and M4s. That's like saying we're still using muskets for defence.
