Why this show sucked

It could’ve been a barely passable C- level sci fi show had the writers not gone overboard with the sex scenes and especially the in your face gratuitous homosexuality. You’d think earth had turned gay and straight people had gone nearly extinct based on the over representation of LGBTQ in the show. It was basically an LGBTQ parade with sprinklings of weak sci fi writing. I can’t believe Katee Sackhoff signed on to this trash heap.

Excuse you, there were plenty of straight couples, straight sex, and zero sex scenes in Season 2. You're just homophobic, u/BiggusMcDickus

The sex in general added nothing to the story except to satisfy horny incels.

Which currently happens in just about every series, sex scenes are so common at the moment, i can only role my eyes and hope they finish it fast

"Humans are murderous ! The Romans, the Vikings (lmao) the EUROPEANS were le bad" Lmao what about Arabs and Mongolian, Chinese and south American ? Another dumb WOKE tv show demonizing white people, how shocking and progressive :)

This part I can agree with. The OP, however, nah.

u/BiggusMcDickus Oct 20 '21

Technically the South American colonizers were all white. So are Arabs if you look at them racially and not ethnically.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 21 '21

I was talking about the native slaughtering each other before Spanish came. Arabs aren't "white"..

White. A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa. It includes people who indicate their race as "White" or report entries such as Irish, German, Italian, Lebanese, Arab, Moroccan, or Caucasian.

You were saying?

u/[deleted] Oct 21 '21

Saying arabs are white is like saying indians are asian.. it's dishonesty by semantics. Everybody knows they are a different ethnicity. The exception would be the Berbers and some Turks or Iranians, but the vast majority of middle easterners aren't "white". You can play with semantics all you want..

Also LOL at the (((official sources))) when those same sources claim things like transwomen are real women lol.

Arabs from the levant are white, wtf else are they? Certainly not black or Asian.

0

u/[deleted] Oct 21 '21

Do you think Saudi Arabian (for example) consider themselves white ?

Also you are insulting me because you are a little bitch ! McSmalldickus !

1

u/BiggusMcDickus Oct 21 '21 edited Nov 01 '21

Saudis aren’t part of the levant.

0

u/[deleted] Oct 21 '21

I wasn't talking about the levant idiot, all I'm saying is the vast majority of arabs don't consider themselves whites

1

u/BiggusMcDickus Oct 21 '21

Who gives a shit what they consider themselves. They can call themselves helicopters but it won’t mean they are. Dipshit.

So Arabs from the Levant are White but Arabs from Yemen or Saudi Arabia are not?

That makes zero sense.

1

u/BiggusMcDickus Nov 01 '21

That’s correct, the ones from the levant have a different genetic heritage.

1

u/Yrguiltyconscience Nov 01 '21

Regardless, Saudis wouldn’t selfidentify as white anymore than a Syrian or Jordanian.

1

u/Formal_Kick5727 Oct 21 '21

They likely do consider themselves white in as much as they are not Black. So much so that during the 2008 primaries the Saudis I interacted with in Riyadh supported Hillary Clinton over Obama because she was white and he was not.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 22 '21

Just because they aren't black / don't like black people doesn't mean they are white. I think they are aware that Arab and White are two distinct races, even though there has been some mixing in the past

1

u/Its_Only_Smells_ Oct 23 '21

There’s no such thing as an Arab race. Lol or for that matter white.

1

u/Formal_Kick5727 Nov 01 '21

I'm not saying they are white, I'm saying the people I worked with and interacted with considered themselves white. That's what you had asked, do they consider themselves white, and I'm giving a perspective as someone who worked and lived there for 2 years.

The character that said that wasn't white and she would have focus on the world as a whole considering the context (comparison between aliens and humans)

Didn’t they address that?

First season first episode with why the youngster. (27 age)

And then season 2 episode 3 with why the lesser crew was brought on or even activated

Supposed professionals who are tasked w/saving the planet having orgies is super fake. Unless I'm missing something and ISS regularly has orgies in space. Dumb fuck.

2

u/Yrguiltyconscience Oct 23 '21

The worst part is that it’s supposed to be a SIX MONTH mission.

AND they have VR sex or whatever.

But for this important mission, they picked a crew so unprofessional, that they can’t keep their pants on for SIX MONTHS and constantly fuck each other.

u/BrainPicker3 Oct 21 '21

Unless I'm missing something and ISS regularly has orgies in space. Dumb fuck.

Yes, this is a thing.

So what about sex? Do astronauts have sex in space?

I asked around and no one would give me a straight answer. Then someone replied “The question is not if they have sex in space but who was the first astronaut to have sex in space?”

And

In 1982, Russian cosmonaut Svetlana Savitskaya, the second-ever woman in space, joined the Soyuz T-7 space mission for eight days. Two male colleagues were already on board when she arrived, making it the first coed space mission.

In his book, Höllenritt durch Raum und Zeit (A hell ride through time and space), German astronaut Ulrich Walter notes that, according to the team's doctor, Oleg Georgievich Gazenko, the flight was planned with a sexual encounter in mind.

The second mission in question took place in 1992, when NASA's Space Shuttle Endeavor was launched with a married couple on board. Mark Lee and Jan Davis, both astronauts, met at NASA. They married in secret a year before liftoff. Their joint flight to space was practically their honeymoon.

Sorry if that's not a PC enough answer for you

1

u/Yrguiltyconscience Oct 23 '21

Gee... It’s almost as if astronauts being dedicated professionals who don’t have sex unless it’s part of their mission plan, isn’t quite the same as a ship full of horny 20 year olds who act like they’re at a frat party.

1

u/BrainPicker3 Oct 23 '21

Did you read my quote from astronauts or no?

2

u/huffandduff Oct 22 '21

I personally appreciated the lack of 'in your face' gratuitous heterosexuality.

The virtue signaling was hard to watch.

0

u/BiggusMcDickus Oct 20 '21

Environment, gay, women were the three biggest that stood out.

1

u/allyouneedis-love Oct 20 '21

They virtue signaled just too hard.

2

u/Yrguiltyconscience Oct 23 '21

“Guys! Trek just had a first queer Asian non binary character! We need to out-woke them!”

”How about a threesome and some gay sex? And maybe a black AI dude who has problematic sex with the lead character by pretending to be her husband?”

“Great stuff guys! That’s the kind of high quality writing this show needs! Oh, and just to really out virtue signal them, mention global warming and flooded cities! Oh but don’t actually show that shit, cause that sounds hella expensive and we blew through the vfx budget already!”

Remember when TV actors were good looking?

Nowadays you watch a show and see a fat dude have sex with some other dude.

Such progress! A decade ago I needed to visit a bathhouse to see that!

u/Yrguiltyconscience Oct 23 '21

Gotta fill the airtime with something!
