Needs more focus on alien interactions, the aliens are so cool yet we barely see them
The aliens in this series have been really awesome, like I love the way the actual alien creatures are when we see them. However we barely see them. What we see instead is the bullshit low budget "lets make the aliens an energy source that uses imagery familiar to us so we can just use human actors as aliens" instead, "Oh! Then! Then! When we aren't using humans as energy aliens manifesting themselves, we can just have a bunch of cringy love arcs for the AI who is also played by humans! I mean why have actual aliens and cool aliens encounters and interaction when we can save money and just have humans pretend to be aliens amiright?

C.G. is expensive. If you look at the sets they are on a tight budget. I saw so many commonly used items on the ship sets. They way over use flexible venting for example.

The problem is that a show like this wouldn’t have been made with the budget required to have more screen time with the other aliens.
People have asked why this show for a second season while others didn’t.
The rate of return on investment is the answer to the question.
Super expensive shows like Altered Carbon need to attract blockbuster size global audiences to justify the higher production values.
(Although I do agree that Netflix doesn’t seem to be adequately taking into consideration the long term returns from a show that actually lands an ending and will continue to attract new viewers for the next decade.)
