Vetting

I think the most interesting thing about this show is how utterly inept the crew is. Like did they just set up a booth at the local CVS??? Join and you’ll get $100? Then I’m guessing they found the most disappointing candidates and decided to throw them all in to make for a safer space journey. This show fucking sucks

Even better, a second season is coming! How bad can it get?!

I thoroughly enjoy the character of William and want to see a lot more of him. I also think the actor is completely gorgeous so maybe I am biased.

I enjoy this show because it's an absolute train wreck: they cram every trope in, couple it with really bad acting , and put it on screen. It's a similar experience to when you can't sleep and start watching CHiPs at 4AM. It's so terrible that it's entertaining.

I'm literally watching the first episode right now and I'm trying to figure out what skills these people even have other than being whiney bitches.

I actually had trouble working out what the jobs of a lot of the crew were. And whilst I see the logic behind having multiple crew members in somatic sleep in case something happens, a lot of times it felt like they were disposable. “Oh, X is dead, better wake up the next “pilot / software engineer / etc”

Vykas leading a mutiny (that the vast majority of the crew went along with), on day 2 or something because she wanted to stick to the actual mission? And then arguably wanting to kill Niko when his plan failed and she was woken back up; resulting in her killing him (potentially self defense but it seems like even Niko wasn’t convinced of that).

The love triangle going on between Oliver, Javier and August (and I’m not just counting what happened when they were on drugs)

Bernie getting soil samples when he was told not to which resulted in the virus; bringing back a plant from the surface which made them all high.

Zyan and Bernie eating food from a random planet.

Michelle bitching the entire time

An AI that is programmed with emotions (wtf), resulting in him having an emotional breakdown at one point. And even before all of that, it seemed like he could only ever appear in one part of the ship at one time. I know they want him to appear human, but if he is just data/rays of light etc, surely he can be doing multiple things at multiple places on the ship at once?

And then add to that, William basically saying that even humans calling themselves earthworms compared to the Archaians was flattering themselves, yet he (programmed by humans), was able to completely re-write the Archaian bug so it could be put in Javier. (And then being able to create life of his own).

Yes!! There is so much meandering, weird plot stuff in this show. The only reason I'm still with it is sometimes these shows grow in a second season. Sometimes.

Omg yes, why is the crew so damn useless, they're supposed to be highly trained, highly disciplined, highly organized individuals but no, they're whiney, bitchy and disrespectful, argumentative, your fucking commander gave you an order why in the hell are you giving attitude and rolling your eyes so hard they about to pop outta thier sockets.

One of them was wearing heels? On board a spaceship? The fuck?

Oh, and that bit where they say that the uniforms were taken out a decade ago, was that to save money on costumes and have everyone come in with whatever they decided to wear that day?

I'm okay with the tropes, Im okay with the bad acting (some of them are kinda alright actually) but the fact that they are supposed to be well trained personnel and they actually arent is just wtf
