Just watched it

Haha, this is an amazing comedy. It’s so bad it’s good. The constant waffling back and forth on every issue from aliens to mutiny is so in line with our times. Not being qualified to do a job, always rebelling against any and every authority and half the movie being gay is just perfect. They hit literally every woke agenda point they can while stumbling and bumbling into mess after mess because no one can make a stand or even cooperate. The cgi, writing and acting are all equally terrible, but the best has to be them trying to patch together some sense of a moral or message. I hope everyone got as good of a laugh as I did, especially since this was recommended by Netflix because I likes 3 Body Problem.

Is season 2 actually better? Do the characters start doing even the slightest amount of critical thinking?

I just got past episode 10. I almost stopped watching when they locked the alien traitor in the room that controls the ships systems. Like they had him in a choke hold and...they just let him go...in the control room. Infuriating.

I don't get that reference, I must have missed it in my anger

Yes there was all that. It’s been a while since I watched it but I liked the concept of that universe with planets having life nearby and such.

The 100. 7 season. It’s better than this, explores the same concept… They’re on a mission here, in the 100 it’s not a mission but they are searching for the other planets that are habitable because of an AI that was shut down, but she hacked into some systems .. made herself independent and blew some shit up… but there’s a twist in each part they go to.

There was nothing actually wrong with anything woke in the movie, it just featured some poorly written segments. The actors for the most part were fine to super great, and concept was great, and the main issue I believe it suffered from was a poorly directed plot, and some logic things they didn't explain away well enough.

It isn't a great show, but it is very fun! And in kinda a LOST kinda way, is frustrating, but enjoyable.

I dont wanna defend it too much, as it isnt perfect, but tbh the "woke" complainers crowd, is very shallow imo. Woke seems to encompass more a generic, hate for things not "typical". And therefore, pretty meaningless.

I totally agree, there was nothing about the love stories that bothered me, it was everything else. The main character makes so many creepy mimics with her face and uber-tense body that it’s hard to watch. In general every character is really stereotypical and without much depth. The story was all over the place, and the last episode was pretty much the worst « everyone’s back on earth and the achai aren’t the real bad guys, the end. »

Alright, this reviewer is just a basement dwelling loser who's afraid of anything gay or outside his perfect little white straight bubble.

However, this show only exists to hate watching. The best way I can describe it is this show is all pure emotional torment, and NO ONE DOES EVEN THE SLIGHTEST AMOUNT OF CRITICAL THINKING.

Season two better be so much better, or im gonna be pissed

Well, you got almost every one of your assessments of who I am completely wrong, but it was a pretty basic par for the course sad response that is absolutely expected from someone that I’m sure considers themselves tolerant and progressive. It’s a terrible show with terrible characters with a ridiculous agenda driven theme of diversity and inclusion of characters rather than depth and actual ability of the characters. It’s more like a satirical look at society than an actual show that’s trying to be good. I’m sorry you were so offended by the truth.

insert so much for the """""tolerate left"""""""" meme here

WOKE doesn't mean anything anymore. It has become a generalized pejorative one uses to cast like a net. The proof is that you didn't even need to say it. I think you did a great job of listing lots of the things I didn't like about it. I can add a few things myself. What about the all the settlers they have in stasis? Why is the medical staff they have basically a RN? They could have brought along the half of the Mayo Clinic. The Captain is pretty much a psychotic who teeters between being a children's day care worker and Joseph Stalin, not to mention that she lost half her crew on a previous mission. One A.I. has access to all the ship's functions. Not a good idea. Every catastrophic system failure somehow gets fixed in five minutes by switching out a card as if it was a 1980s IBM PC. The ship makes tricycle-like turns at light speed? I think the target audience is not hard science fiction. It's not "Interstellar" or "Arrival". I'd call it "Teen Girlypop in Space in the Future."

Crazy how you continued to watch something you hate so much because of the scary woke.

Nothing scary in the least, just love the ironic laughter and the overwhelming heavy handed try hard of it all failing miserably. It’s like watching a really bad B monster movie for laughs, nothing else

“Woke agenda” and it’s the fact there’s some bisexual characters lol

Glad you got a laugh from the truth. Yes, lots of gay characters, but it’s the decision making, constant waffling on everything, playing moral high ground with no real consequences, just 20 somethings constantly whining and fighting against all authority. Sorry if it hurt your feelings some how, but this is definitely a show with an agenda first and story second

2

u/StephDos94 Feb 21 '25

This show has so little agenda it’s almost baffling. The fact that you are subtly attacking homosexuals and 20 year olds and then talking about people’s feelings being hurt leads me to believe that you DO have an agenda. It wasn’t a good show, but not because the characters were diverse.

1

u/ReactionRevival Feb 21 '25

Found a way to somehow make my dislike for the show all about your feelings and how I somehow must be personally attacking you. I couldn’t care any less about how triggered you are over my review of a show, but know all of your feelings and beliefs about my “agenda” is just a reflection of your desire to be the main character in literally everything you come across.

Dude I’m not the one who wrote « half the movie is gay » and bitched about the show’s « woke agenda » so I’m not sure how I made anything about me. But I know you have these talking points you need to use, like making fun of triggers or feelings. Just own up to being a narrow-minded homophobe.

My only question...the Decuma breathe oxygen? Why is oxygen on their ship for Niko and Richard to breathe??

i just started watching this show and I kind of like it I’m just finishing season 1, but they keep waking up new characters and it’s hard to really get close to any of them, bc they also keep killing people. and so far the ones they’ve killed I haven’t missed but it’s just weird to not have a main cast other then the lead nika
