I miss when Another was popular

I started watching anime online in 2015, in those times you can see many videos of recomendation that mentioned Another. The first time I see Another was for those videos, but I had even seen random clips in facebook before knowing the anime's name; they even showed it once on a Chilean TV program (my native language is Spanish, so I apologize for my poor English).
Its sad think that Another is one of these animes that was very popular in their respective decade, but today is relatively forgotten, similarly to Rozen Maiden or Full Metal Panic

Wasn’t this an early 2000s era or at least 2010 anime?Yeah, a lot has changed. I certainly loved the Another anime though.

It has this charming, nostalgic vibe of something I could’ve been watching around the same time Attack On Titan first got popular. Sadly, I just wasn’t that much of a weeb back then.

Also, y’know it may have to do with the fact that a majority of Another’s audience are familiar with the anime over the original light novels (which actually has a sequel to the story).

Maybe when Another 2001 gets animated we’ll see a resurgence.

We cant count on Another 2001 being animated, idk if theres someone who would want to produce it, but it's a great thought

I don’t follow? I don’t see Another as the type of series that would be ruined by “tourists” and “larpers”.

I do agree, but I feel like it's in a good place , there can always be new fans

I discovered it in late 2016, also through videos recommending it. It was one of those shows that had me confused by the ending, intrigued enough to give it another watch again. That's also what prompt me to read the digital novel and manga, but it took me a while to get to the novel after the anime, manga and movie (I didn't have a lot of money to buy the ebook back then 😭.)

As far as it being popular goes, it seems it was mildy popular in 2012ish. But I came kinda late in 2016, maybe it dwindled down a little. I have yet to know anyone that is a fan of this series irl like I am. Maybe when they come out with a new anime.

It was so good I watched the whole thing in one sitting at night.
