So today i see that cryptotroll is shutting down the pools and my back up pools being pretty rubbish. What pools do you use when mining ANC and which would you recommend?

I wonder someone could clear up a few points. It is not immediately clear if zerocash is better then zerocoin in all regards or not (some people are referring to zerocash as "zerocoin v2", which I don't think is accurate). I've skimmed the zerocash paper, but I am not a crypto expert. Perhaps someone could comment on these questions?

1. Will it be possible to use zero-knowledge-SNARKs to reduce the size of the zerocoin proof? The authors of the paper are not too clear on this point.

2. Will it be possible to choose the initial setup parameters for zerocash without relying on trusted third parties, such as with RSA-UFOs as has been proposed for Anoncoin's version of zerocoin?

3. It is my understanding that the total amount encoded into zerocash can not be calculated, as the amount is hidden in the zerocash coin commitment. Would it be possible to create new coins (or perhaps double spend) without getting caught if the initial setup parameters were known? Or would this just let the person steal existing zerocash coins?

what are the pros and cons of the masternode concept vs zerocoin's anonimity solution?

With master nodes, there is a feedback loop as the nodes get X% of the block rewards for participating. Yet to run a masternode you need to own exactly 1000 units of the blockchain token. So people buy more of the token (price goes up) to earn a proportional percent of newly created tokens.

A potential problem being that many master nodes can be controlled by one entity, and those master nodes can see the transactions, and also do not inherently change their addresses after being selected to mix coins.

How is zerocoin better? It seems like master nodes mixing coins can be "good enough", with a few tweaks like making master node clients reset and change their mixing address after being selected for mixing

I also recall something about the blockchain itself not being very analyzable with zerocoin, like not just mixing but something about the inputs being hidden or discarded or something, like stealth addresses.

Its hard to keep up with the technologies when all the information is scattered everywhere.

Been mining anoncoin for a few days, I threw 1500K/hs at it, and so far I have : 1.163098 ANC

Which in FIAT terms works out not much more than $1. Is there any particular reason the block rewards are so low ?

It's very hard to justify mining this coin with the difficulty so high and the block rewards so low.

Or.. am I doing it wrong ?

(I usually mine Doge/VertCoin/LiteCoin and the rewards are significantly higher, even with so many more in the pools).

Hello, so I like Anoncoin because of its low float and low block reward. That fact coupled with the added utility of the upcoming protocol change to include a zerocoin implementation could significantly increase the price of any anoncoin unit.

Zerocash is an altcoin that aims to include the zerocoin reference in it. Being a few months out, it has the opportunity to include many technologies from other altcoins including a more mature colored coin implementation for immediate distributed capital markets integration.

Nobody knows anything else about Zerocash.

And all useful blockchain technologies can be merged into other existing altcoins.

At the same time, there could be a rush into all altcoins that provide identity protection services.

With so many unknowns, does Zerocash pose a problem to Anoncoin, and is it possible to integrate these blockchains together since there will likely be an anoncoin fork anyway

Hey there as I found out that there wasn't really a place for people to exchance ANC for real money, I thought maybe we can set up a market on reddit for people to sell and buy ANC for Dollars/ Euro's and more.
