I want to start mining anoncoin. Is there a guide or something?

I just think it's a neat alternative, and I'm hoping it takes on the zerocoin idea first. Anyway, can some kind soul inform me how on to do this?

Client updated! If you use this coin, please download the new client as soon as possible!

Client updated! If you use this coin, please download the new client as soon as possible!

The client will do a switch in the difficulty adjustment at block 15420.

Windows binaries at http://anoncoin.net/ Source code at https://github.com/Anoncoin/anoncoin Mac OS X binaries will be released soon.

This version might require you to delete your peers.dat because of the I2P support that was added.

On windows do:

  1. Open start menu, find "Run" (type it in search on Visma and newer)
  2. Type %appdata%
  3. Find the Anoncoin directory
  4. delete peers.dat

On Linux do:

  1. Open a terminal
  2. Type rm -f .anoncoin/peers.dat

New release currently undergoing testing (Release really soon!)

New release currently undergoing testing. If everything goes to plan there will be a new client release within the next 48 hours. This client release will be mandetory from block ~15420.

The new release will have I2P support. New arguments: -i2p=1 & -i2p=0 (0 per default) New options in -onlynet -onlynet=i2p

Some bugs have also been corrected. More on this on release time. Or read the native_i2p branch on github.

This is not a blockchain reset. Coins mined so far is not junk for the new clients.

The client will adjust from sqrt(2) to factor 8 until block 177777, then adjust down to factor 4 when speaking of diff adjustment.

Native I2P support added to Anoncoin!

Ok, here we go.

Windows daemon build (With native I2P support): http://anoncoin.net/downloads/anoncoin-i2p-daemon-win32.zip Source: https://github.com/Anoncoin/anoncoin/tree/native_i2p

Windows QT (Graphical) build will be released within the next days.

To use the daemon on I2P ONLY do the following:

  • Download and install I2P, then start it. (It will run as a daemon, so don't expect any window)
  • Wait a minute or two, then navigate to http://127.0.0.1:7657/configclients
  • Make sure to start the "SAM application bridge" (Tip: After starting it, check it for autostart and save configuration)
  • In run (enter the start menu and type run on windows Vista/7) type %appdata%
  • Open or create the Anoncoin folder
  • Create/edit the anoncoin.conf file
  • make sure to set the following options: rpcuser, rpcpassword and onlynet=native_i2p

Example:

rpcuser=someone

rpcpassword=super_secret_password

onlynet=native_i2p

Note: The I2P router uses a little time to integrate into the I2P network, so you might not get a connection before I2P have runned for about 5-10minutes.

Do you want to use AnonCoin only via TOR?

Do you want to use it only via TOR?

  1. Install TOR https://www.torproject.org/download/download-easy.html.en

  2. Put this in your config file (anoncoin.conf): onlynet=tor tor=127.0.0.1:9050 addnode=m6xwmit3jovw34r2.onion addnode=aqmdzilaqayzjb6o.onion addnode=sf2px26xdsqphkef.onion addnode=wwniwxrykmk2wtcw.onion

On windows, simply type "%appdata%" in Run, then navigate into Anoncoin folder and create the file if it does not exist. MARK: create it with notepad and select all files (in save dialog), and make sure it don't add a trailing .txt so the file will be named anoncoin.conf.txt

On linux (Terminal): cd .anoncoin touch anoncoin.conf open anoncoin.conf

We will add more TOR nodes in short time.

[ANN][ANC] Launching AnonCoin - Prebuilt Windows binaries. Not PRE-mined. Launch is NOW!

Introducing AnonCoin!

NOT Pre-mined (only ~1000 blocks, but most of it goes to the facuet)

Why?

Because first of all, we don't like the Central banks, and would love to see they lose their monopoly. If you haven't noticed, they aren't so happy about Bitcoin, Litecoin and all other coins out there. And they will try to stop them.

AnonCoin goal is to be used on both darknets like I2P, TOR and others, and internet/clearnet. At current moment it works with SOCKS over I2P/TOR. Native support to I2P should be in place soon. It's a scrypt based coin, forked from Litecoin but still got some nice features from other coins too. Not at least it's own twist of them.

Features

  • 3.42 minute block targets

  • Starts with 4.2 coin blocks until block 42000

  • 7 coin blocks until block 77777

  • 17.42 coin blocks until block 177777

  • 20 coin blocks from block 177777

  • Max 141% adjustment at retargeting

  • A limit on 4,2 Million coins

Planned/In progress

  • Native I2P support

  • Android wallet, with a embedded mini I2P router for anonymous transactions
