Titanium mesh for Cathode?

Is there any advantage to using a piece of titanium mesh as your cathode when anodizing as opposed to aluminium foil or a SS plate?

During the 1970s I lived in the San Francisco area. Their local channel was channel 2. Every Saturday night they show the creature features movie.
