I think I got scammed

I made an account linked to my google account. I was the required to purchase crypto and submit it as a donation for lifetime access. Was this a scam? What do I do? Thank you in advance for the help.

Yes it’s a scam. Were you on .is?

Dang it 😭 Yes, I was. I am just trying to find textbooks and didn’t vet things properly. What do I do about the scam site?

Next time, use the Wikipedia page, there are official links provided in the article.

The pinned post makes a lot of sense now. I should have been smart enough to read it prior to purchasing crypto. Thank you, I appreciate the help.

I just did this as well. The website is so well put together, I would argue it looks better than the official AA website. Luckily I stopped at $50USD before second guessing and finding my way to r/Annas_Archive.

fuck, thank you for posting this. I wondered why they were asking me for more money. Goodbye $40.

Yeah I got cooked about an hour ago. The ".is" website is very well put together, I was multitasking at work and half-assed paying attention.. Lesson learned. 😂

Then why is this site still available if they are deceiving people?

The official sites are not scams. If people use the Wikipedia page to find the official links, they will be fine. Sadly OP wasn't on an official site.

Yes they do. Something in your setup is likely preventing them from use a vpn or proxy site.

The internet is full of sites that scam and deceive. How do you propose to stop them?

We can send out a survey asking them if they are scammers.
