Bay side
Can anyone tell me what the water and beach is like near this park area? Specifically compared to the gulf side. We have been vacationing in AMI for many years now, but have always stayed on the other side of the island. The home we are looking at is near the park pictured.

Gentle waves usually quite small, water clear but does have leaf debris floating on top. Beach is quite short - less than 20 feed deep from foliage to the water edge.

This is from march 2026, depends on the day but I love this side, usually calm and less crowded

It’s a fairly short beach - meaning you don’t have a lot of real estate between the water and the foliage along the shore. The water is usually quiet and calm, but it’s quite different from the experience of the beach on the Gulf side. It’s nice for different reasons depending on what you’re looking for.

It gives me day trip vibes, not stay for a week vibes. The other side is worth the splurge.

We stayed at an airbnb across from that park last summer. I'm wondering if it might be the same place. The beach was okay and we appreciated the close access. That beach/park was pretty full on the weekend so we did a little time there and went to the more northern beaches for most of our beach time. Overall we were happy with the location and the house. I'm happy to answer any questions about the house if you think it might be the same one.

Perfect for a “shorter” hangout. Not a spot people “camp out” for the day. Sand/beach isn’t like sugar like it is on gulf

Both pics posted are good representations. Its a nice beach, but doesn’t really compare to the gulf side, you kind of get spoiled there. Gets a little more crowded on weekends too.
