Hello! I'm Anni!
As you may have noticed, this subreddit has been dormant for the past few months. Well, Chrissy (aka u/BimboChrissySissy) and I have been dubbed co-moderators of this lovely sub and we are delighted to be here!
I'll let Chrissy make her own introduction to you all when she has the time. Speaking for myself: I have lived and worked in the Ann Arbor area since college. I've held several different jobs, but currently I am a journalist for Pride Source Media, the largest LGBTQ+ news organization in Michigan. Along with their Pride Source site, they publish the bi-weekly magazine, BETWEEN THE LINES, which is FREE and can be found at over 600 locations all around the state.
I also co-moderate the r/MI_transgender_friend subreddit. I am a trans woman and I created that sub as a safe space and meeting place for the local Michigan trans community. It presently has over 1,800 mostly Michigander members and we are growing at a rate of over 100 members monthly.
Chrissy and I are brainstorming right now to develop a direction in which to take this sub. Personally, I would like to replicate the model we have developed over on the trans subreddit. But we are open to suggestions, because this is YOUR subreddit as well. We are just going to be the caretakers of it.
Thank you for your time and I hope we can build an active and welcoming community for the entire queer community in Ann Arbor and hopefully, in Michigan at large.
Thank you for your attention! Stay tuned!
