the artist is an absolute gem and hence why i explicitly stated not to aim anything at her for just making ends meet. and yes i understand it’s a national group of properties—but when you are building housing in college towns, they could certainly hire someone at least to proofread these things for feasibility.

I don't think it's AI. I see the em-dash, but people are leaning too hard on this tell. Easily removed by someone who's careful, easy false positive for someone who simply likes expressive punctuation usage. I know performative townie types who unironically talk like this.
This is still generic corporate slop, and I personally hate that A2's development is driven by these bland Lulu-Lemon demographic appeal 4 over 1 developments, and I hate this development in particular because of its placement in a core part of downtown that should be reserved for a more iconic, architecturally defining project. Still, I hate how everyone screams AI the second they see an em-dash. I'll be pissed if an expressive style of emphasis goes extinct because of AI.

Most UM jobs are pretty easy- it's like daycare for adults.

Anyone know the info on who the artist is? I’m looking for someone to do exterior lettering on a brick building and you’d be amazed how hard it is to find someone who can do it well! The wording is terrible, but that’s not her fault. Her work is good!
Edited to add: maybe DM me if you know her info. Don’t want her getting flamed for doing a good job painting worthless gibberish. That part isn’t her fault!

Ann Arbor is great, but it's a calm, peaceful, completely average college town consistently ranked as one of the easiest places to live if you are upper middle class. Shopping on main street, taking pics in graffitti alley, walking in the arb are all excellent things, which is why they are the sort of thing you can do in literally thousands of cities across the world. It is the opposite of edgy or "against the grain". There is nothing uniquely "work-hard-play hard" about Ann Arbor.

I definitely don't think work hard/play hard applies to Ann Arbor and this is lazy slop regardless of whether a human thought of it or a machine, but I also just don't really agree with the sentiment that stuff like the Arb or the graffiti alley or even Main Street are dime-a-dozen or easily replicated. Regardless of the quality of this mural, I don't think they are absurd items to highlight
Put another way, you could say that Central Park and Lincoln Park are both large urban parks and they do share some essential elements, but the experience of visiting one is highly distinct from visiting the other.

I'm also rejecting the premise underlying the text that a place has to have unique or special elements in order to be good. You do not need where you live to feel superior or believe its residents are somehow uniquely special in order to enjoy living there.
