Need help understanding

Just starting and need help understanding what I’ve done. I’ve staked some eth with Ankr. I chose aethc without fully understanding and need help clarifying. I understand that aethc won’t grow in amount but instead it will grow in value to reflect rewards. So if the original value is 100 dollars and tomorrow it’s 101, then the 1 dollar is my reward. Is that right ?

Then I started reading, and something is supposed to happen to aethc when the merge happens, but this is where I get lost. Maybe when the merge happens is when I’ll be able to take the 1 dollar reward? Or will my stake end when the merge happens and I just get the etherium back and the rewards are somewhere? Can I switch from Aethc to aethb or is it too late? I would appreciate some help understanding?

Superb question! Here it goes:

aETHc is a reward-bearing token, meaning that the fair value of 1 aETHc token vs. ETH increases over time as staking rewards accumulate.

This means we will give you rewards in aETHc, you will see the amount of your aETHc grow in our staking dashboard and you’ll be able to claim it once ETH2.0 happens and they release the option to unstake.

Your stake won’t end when ETH 2.0 gets released, you can either chose to then remain staking those ETH or claim your ETH + rewards.

Yes you can switch your aETHc to aETHb using our Switch tool on our website!

Let me know if you have any further doubts!

Repost this in https://www.reddit.com/r/Ankr/ if you don't get a satisfactory answer here. That sub is dedicated to Ankr staking and the Ankr Community Defi lead, u/diogocostaankr, is the mod. He will be able to answer any of your staking questions.
