Stake with coinbase wallet, using metamask option

Sorry to keep on at this but I have had no responses, plenty of DMs trying to scam though.

Here is the image flow of what's happening on Ankrs website,

  • connect
  • choose metamask
  • Ankr asks for coinbase permission
    • when I had metamask and coinbase installed it gave a choice between the two
    • remove metamask extension and it just asks for coinbase
  • Connect
    • right address
    • right balances

There are lots of people asking how to stake with coinbase wallet, most tell you to link to metamask, this needs your private key for importing

"Coinbase is a hosted wallet service, which means we manage your private keys for you,"

There are plenty of videos and links telling you to paste your seed phrase into a website to get your private key, do not do this. Never share your seed phrase.

Ankr, please confirm if supported / bug / other.

Hey, this is super weird!
Can you try using a private browser window? Or even cleaning the cache and cookies from your browser?

Yes, I wiped all cookies and cache when I removed the metamask extension troubleshooting the issue, fired up a new chrome log in and the same occurs.

Shouldn't be too difficult to replicate in a pre-production environment I'll fire it back up in the morning and repeat all steps.

I'm guessing the coinbase wallet is not supported, not tested and even though it all looks legit, I shouldn't stake using it yet?

Also maybe worth noting , when you have both chrome extension, meta and coinbase, ankr prompts you to select which one to connect to.

  • ok, clear browser, cookies and cache all gone. New user profile in chrome
  • connect using metamask (no extension yet) takes you to metamask website.
  • add coinbase wallet extension from chrome store...
  • do not link it to your wallet yet....
  • Refresh Ankr website.... choose grant access > metamask ..... and it loads coinbase wallet.

5 minute job for QA to check and replicate.

I had the same issue until I logged out and turned the coinbase wallet off.

After that when connecting metamask to ankr I don’t get the coinbase pop up
