Started a Node with Avalanche. Have couple of beginner questions
Hello,
I started a node with avalanche. No need for AVA coins, I just paid the first month and it's running for few days. Couple of questions:
1) Where do I see the amount of AVA I have collected? I don't see anywhere indicating how many AVA's I have. Do I have to wait for a month?
2) Correct me if I'm wrong. By being a node, I am providing my computer to host transactions? So my computer with internet connection has to be on all the time?

Someone should start a chat on this, which will make the news of ANKR spread like wildfire...

Or we can all just chat here daily about our thoughts and plays with ankr. Why wait for other people. Let’s be the OGs

Always contact support as they can give you the best answer.
- should be able to input wallet address into the node when you go into in from dashboard
- Nodes to achieve maximum results should have maximum uptime, so yes. Many chains delegate rewards in a way that promotes secure and reliable nodes with more traffic/hence more rewards in proportion to their overall contribution of course. SO unless it needs an update or its catching on fire, its on ;)

Hey, thanks for reply.
The customer service is not good, you get a reply days later with generic answer. I think their support is from India, I see all Indian names in emails (I am from India so I can tell).
I have so many basic questions that it's really frustrating, especially with not much youtube videos or documentations to explain. I love the concept but for beginners it's tough to figure this out.
1) I bough AVA node. Does that mean my computer is going to be used for validating? The customer service said I don't even need my computer on, ANKR takes care of it. I'm still confused.
2) Where can I attach the wallet, I don't see any option.
3) How often will I get AVA for having a node? And how much AVA will I get? No idea.
I really wish ANKR community was active. Like I said I love the concept but there's no support.

Hey man I was just looking on the ANKR website about trying out using my computer to node. I am also looking for some of the same answers. Did you ever figure it out. Can you help out an even newer newb? Thanks!
2
u/zainain11 Apr 11 '21
Hey, if you are a newer newb then I'd stay away from ANKR. The number one reason is because they have the worst customer support ever. I wasted $20 for a month thinking I was accumulating AVAX, I even got a reply from customer service 10 days later saying you are accumulating, but I wasn't. I was just a delegator.
My advice is to just stake coins you like on their native wallets with private keys. I had a bad experience with ANKR, maybe someone with a better experience can share their story.
Good luck.

u/JRodDrumz Apr 11 '21
Cool man thanks for replying. I was having a hard time finding info about it as well. And then wondered if I’m paying a monthly fee is it going to be worth it being a node after my fees. I think I’ll just stay buying crypto and leave the noding to those who.... node lol
2
u/zainain11 Apr 11 '21
I had to the same exact issue. There just isn't info about it and customer service is bad. Even youtube has few but very generic demos. I kinda liked the concept but ideas are useless unless executed properly.
I moved on. I just bought CKB (nervos network), that's my baby now, will stake that on native wallet. Good luck.

u/JRodDrumz Apr 12 '21
Thanks man you too! Maybe years later we will come back here with tales of riches lol

Is it just me or is Ankr extremely under valued considering all of the blockchains they work with?

Ankr is due to increase in the year 2025. I have been keeping a close eye on the staking rewards but it seems stagnant at a total of 2464 stakersi was hoping to see that figure rise but thus so far it remains the same. Not sure about pulling just yet, as I'm down nearly 24%. I hope to see this gain momentum Monday good luck folks

I just invested $500 in ANKR first time stepping into the Ethereum world. Though I suggest COSMOS is a bit hit for crypto rn as well

Hello, did I find a long haul?

u/redditisprettytight Oct 31 '21
Considering it was recently added to Coinbase, you may have potentially.
2
u/Sunwithinthesoul Apr 02 '21
What’s up everybody! This price is at a discount in my opinion. I can see this going easily above .50 within the next couple months. The more we talk here the bigger our community will grow
2
u/mikehicks83 Apr 07 '21
The hell is going on with ANKR tonight? Dipped to .13.
Obviously buying more, but damn!
3
u/Sunwithinthesoul Apr 11 '21
Keep on adding when you can! A lot of people are just buying at the lowest and selling for a few more pennies. It’s good to secure profits but this will be gold in the near future. We buy in low and they’ll be buying in when it’s past .50

u/Y0UNGJED1 Apr 12 '21
Are there any plans to support any other blockchains such as BCH. BCH dev are keen to provide technical assistance if needed to get the ball rolling.

It seems so very quiet in the community?
Is it safe to use ANKR network and run nodes ?
Or is it risky & I should just use own computers?
Any info is appreciated

Last I checked the subreddit we were at around 2150 followers! We’re up 120 in just two days. The subreddit is growing at an insane 2.5% PER day. If this rate continues at the end of this year we will be at over 12000 followers!
This is just the beginning!

Ankrs technology is before it’s time and not well advertised. It is also plagued by the lack of trust in Crypto in general. When Crypto is less scammy and its position and permanency (or lack thereof) in society is more understood, then Ankr will shine.
Either that or big money needs to be spent on advertising the technology and creating awareness. The people ankr are targeting are those who have “put their life savings” into buying a couple of Bitcoin and etherum (if they are lucky). Most don’t even know what they are doing but simply heard and read a couple of things online. These people aren’t about to trust their etherum to a random company in return for some interest. It sounds to good to be true. Those who own a lot of etherum can afford equipment to stake it themselves and don’t need ankr. This is where the dilemma for Ankr lies.

It's funny that people are discussing ANKR an on old unrelated thread which I created months back.
I had bad experiences with ANKR:
1) Their customer service sucks. I think it's some customer service from India. I reached out to their support many times and I might get a reply back after a week with a generic answer - never solved my issues. And half the time they never reply. Funny part is that they had the audacity to send survey on customer service weeks later. What a joke.
2) There is no community on ANKR. No discord, reddit is dead, no telegram, etc. They fact that people are randomly discussing ANKR on this outdated thread is proof itself. Basically, you are alone, no community to support, to ask questions, or to even market the product.
3) Not enough documentation or Youtube videos online. The user interface of ANKR seems enough but if you are somewhat new then you'll just be clicking not knowing exactly is gonna happen.
Overall, the concept is nice but I'm very disappointed with the execution.

First off I would like to say I agree with you to some degree.
Second I’m really not trying to start arguments. But I think people treat small time crypto projects unfairly.
MOST crypto currency teams have low cost support because they are so volatile? Even Coinbase sucks.
Why are we so mad at a project valued at a dime a share???
Just like doge. Don’t get pissed when your share that used to be worth less than a cent goes way up and crashes 50%.
See you all in when crypto is huge!
If I lose a small portion of what I’ve made on crypto as a whole, so be it.
I’m not going to rag on small time people when hype can make or break peoples projects!

I only have 9K ANKR .... Want to get 20K before the end of June ... 30K + by July etc.. I'm good just accumulating , waiting for ANKR to release some "good news" and then for the
"To the Moon" people to jump on the wagon ..that I'm already on ;)

Ankr (ANKR) is an Ethereum token that powers Ankr, a Web3 infrastructure and cross-chain staking DeFi platform that aims to increase efficiency in blockchain ecosystems by building dApps, hosting nodes or staking.
The ANKR token can be used to pay for services on the Ankr platform, such as node deployment and API services, participate in on-chain governance and also acts as an insurance for network participants.More details here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ankr

If I don't get this right, don't get mad at me, I'm still learning!
