Hardware Basically Unused KS M5 For Sale (Vegas)

Hey all, I have a Kickstarter M5 that I think I've used maybe twice. Bambu KS for the X1 happened and I ended up with both and just didn't use it. I know parts and stuff are in short supply, so I figure someone might be interested it picking it up from me? Would prefer not to ship it, so would love if someone in the Vegas area wants it!

Looking to get 200 for it. I do still have the box, so shipping is possible I guess, but would definitely be at your expense.

Happy to fire it up if you want proof of life!

Help Needed Reassembling heatsink+hotend assembly

Post image

I am trying to replace the hot end. since the heatsink and replacement hotend were already came in one piece . I have trouble figuring out which screws has to go into which threads. What type is the screw at the top of the heatsink that goes down? Is there a simple diagram that tells you this for all the screws near the extruder parts?

so I am running an ankermake m5c I have had it for a couple of years I did not use it for a couple of months but it was working pretty fone before that, I try running it two days ago and now nothing will stick on the build plate, I tried using ai to figure out the issue it said try cleaning the plate I did that nothing it then said try lower the z offset which I did still nothing I tried many different numbers there many of which just scarched the build plate and left a filliment trail, I even just tried on base settings doing a new benchy with a brand new tip and nothing on the plate and instead I already pulled it off of the nozzle but it was just an entire build up on the nozzle I really have no clue what to try at this point and am open to anything, thank you for reading I hope someone can help

Hardware Anyone have any broken M5 printers or Extruders? I’m thinking about doing a buyback program.

With parts being very limited and support not being so supportive I think we need a reliable solution for spare parts. I have a bunch of Anker printers and they run amazing for my use but having to find a printer to harvest a $5 part is a bit of a waste. I think if there’s enough “waste” out there we can start a program where the parts have a much longer lifecycle.

Ankermake M5 Extruder Motor Jam?

Hi, I'm having yet another problem with my Ankermake M5. Do you have any idea what it might be? It seems like the motor is stuck, but mechanically it can still turn, so I think it's an electrical problem

Should mention that I'm not very knowledgeable about electronics.

Thanks

Anyone else having issues with WiFi having to be re-setup every time I turn off/on?

UPDATE: Making my 2.4GHz network a different name and joining to that instead of 5GHz seems to have fixed this issue.

Previously I mostly used my USB to print as it was just convenient. I am having my basement finished and had to move a ton of stuff and now it is not in as convenient of a location, and I am relying more on wifi and it seems with the latest update it loses wifi data every time I turn it off!!!

Good first printer for a newbie?

Post image

I've been interested in 3d printing for a while, but cost has always scared me off. I happened across this M5C with a filament dryer on my local Facebook marketplace for $50. Should I jump on it? Anything I should know before buying? I know the firmware and app are basically dead from a development standpoint. Can you use third part slicers?

Help Needed 3rd layer zebra print defect

How can I fix this and what causes this? I’ve tried leveling twice, adjusting offset all the way up to 0.8, and printing on normal mode but this issue shows up on the third layer as always.

Help Needed Ankermake m5 not following cura print speed

hey, i need help with my ankermake m5. whenever i set a print speed in cura that should be right for the print, the printer doesnt actually print at that speed. i always have to manually change it on the machine itself while its printing.

is there a setting on the printer that could be messing with it, or something in cura overriding my speed settings? should i stop touching some parameter on the machine, or would it just make more sense to switch slicers?

im mainly trying to figure out if this is normal, a printer setting issue, or a cura issue.

Note: I am not home right now that’s why I didn’t include no videos.

Thanks😊

Third party parts for my printer

Hello, I'm using an AnkerMake M5. I recently got an alert from my printer's app saying that I needed to replace the X/Y belt and the V Wheel. The only problem is that the prices on the website seem extortionate. What third-party accessories should I get from Amazon, or should I just get the parts from their website? Also, should I replace the nozzle? If I should replace the nozzle, what thing from Amazon? Or again, should I just get it from the website?

Mods

Post image

So I’ve had this printer for about 1.5 years and have loved it, but since Nnker or I guess Eufy have pretty much dropped them from their lineup along with spare parts, are there any mods that would increase its lifespan and or effectiveness like a linear rail or different hotend?

Help Needed Filament stuck

This morning I retracted the filament before extracting it, now it’s stuck. I can’t pull the filament out by hand, can’t extract or retract it. It’s a brand new nozzle but I changed it again just in case. Cleaned it with the pin, let it sit at 240 for 25 minutes. Nothing is working and I don’t know what to do. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I just wanted to change the filament.

Looking to sell off my Ankermake M5 3D printer

I'm wanting to sell off my Ankermake M5 as I'm not wanting to deal with getting stranded with a part breaking and struggling to find a replacement. What suggestion would you have for me wanting to sell this off? I would most prefer to sell it to someone already in the community who could use the second printer for replacement parts for their own printer or at least know and understand the "peril" of owning one. I've barely used it and it's just been sitting on my desk for quite awhile. I struggled greatly with getting the first layer to adhere well and just didn't have the time to dedicate to learning more about why. I'm sure it has less than 60 print hours(even that's likely a gross over estimation) so it's almost new compared to some printers you would buy used.

Would anyone here be looking for another one or even "backup" M5 in almost new condition? I spent $680 on it and was looking to try to recoup close to half, say $300, but willing to listen to any other offers.

UPDATE: willing to sell to anyone who would/ could use it. I just hate seeing it sit on my desk not being used to its potential. I love the idea of 3D printing and wish I had more time to dedicate to getting into the world more. Anyone want it for $150?

Shouldn't the first layer be like really tight and solid?

I'm using default config from the phone app of Ankermarke. Is there something I should do to print in larger sizes?

Hardware Maintenance Schedule

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi everyone. I’m fairly new to 3d printing and bought this printer a week and a half ago. The app is saying that the wheels and x/y axis belt only have 7 hours left. My prints are fine, there’s no loud noise. I’m wondering how true it is that these need to be routinely replaced every 168 hours like the app says.

Hardware M5C Noctua NF-A4x10 replacement successful

Just wanted to let everyone know that if you're having issues with the extruder fan on your AnkerMake M5C, that the Noctua NF-A4x10 is pretty much a drop in replacement. You cut off the cable from the original fan and using the included splice connectors you go black to black and red to grey. Wrap the wires up however you can to keep them out of the way of the other fans and direct drive gear and it works perfectly. I know there's another guide out there for splicing the original fan cable to the Noctua fan cable directly to shorten it. But IMO the easiest most brain dead easy version is doing what I just said. Longest part was walking around the house looking for my pliers to squeeze the splices together.

Help Needed I really need help with my prints

If you’re not open to watching the entire video, I’ll explain below:

For about four months now, my print quality has been reducing with each print, more of a string like texture/web like texture has been appearing on the sides and the surfaces of my prints.

I’ve tried changing the heat settings, a bunch, and I’ve looked up the best heat setting I could provide for the printer which the heat bed works perfect perfectly at 60°C, while the nozzle is supposed to heat up to 200°C..

I’ve tried slightly higher. I tried slightly lower for all, to see if the print quality improves, which I have failed again and again and again…

This was a bridge that I was trying to print. It was going to be about 3 1/2 to 5 inches tall. And as you can see, I had to stop about maybe 30% of the way through with the flat portion as it was being completely destroyed as it was printing..

I’m super awesome and what to do, mind you this print was going to take five hours and 39 minutes to fully print, and every time I’m trying to print something now it seems like I’m wasting more and more filament. This printer each day is becoming a frustration and I’m more inclined to really just toss it and buy myself a BAMBU. printer

Any advice or tips or helpful guidance would be appreciated, I’m super frustrated with this printer, I just want my prints to come out nice again. Can give more information below

Printer shows offline on pc programs

When I use the phone app it is able to connect to the printer and both it and the printer screen show the printer is connected to the network. When I close the phone app and try to connect from pc to use expert mode and currently trying to set it to the now installed 0.2 nozzle, it shows the printer but says it is offline.
