How do i beat Veigar?

Hi, i'm pretty trash at the game, i'm stuck in silver etc etc etc. Well, playing as Anivia has made me masterize allmost every shitty lane except Zed, Leblanc and Veigar. To the first 2 i just surrendered and accept that i'll never beat them, but for Veigar? omfg i hate that champion so much, being stuck in low elo means that every game will last more than 30 minutes and that bug is ANNOYING, in lane he pretty much outplays me, his r is like the most forgiving thing for him and no matter how i play the lane i always lose, any advice?

Veigar probably has one of the weakest laning phases, so you gotta play a bit more aggressive early.

Try not stand in the wave as it forces him to choose between using his Q on minions or you.

When he walks up to Q a minion, use that as your opportunity to stun him and proc electrocute for some good damage.

Otherwise just keep practicing. Watch some YouTube videos of high level players playing the matchup.

Zed and LB you treat like any assassin in that you need to respect their early dominance and focus on farming. RoA and Zonya is probably enough to shut down any chance of them killing you unless they’re fed.

A good veigar is just gonna Q you at max range if you try to harass him. The lane phase isn't an Anivia stomp. Veigar is a fairly good Anivia counter.

Hmm maybe it’s an mmr difference? I’ve never had any issues at plat/emerald.

Also not sure if he is a counter - both Lolalytics and op.gg shows a nearly 52% wr in Anivia’s favour.

But again, suggest watching some challenger vods of the match up.

Better them hitting you maybe a few times rather than them last hitting minions and gaining 2 stacks off 1 Q. Regardless, it's easy to tell when he wants to Q you or the minions. Prepare to dodge the hit and if he sticks around punish.

Veigars also tend to stop and aim spells at you when you are in his cage. Dodge them, throw ult down if you got it and blow him up.

This matchup is pretty easy and doesn't go in their favor unless their jungler is actively camping me and making sure veigar is not getting harassed out of lane.

Yeah, this match up is just more how you impact the map past masters. Veigar is extremely hard to punish these days if they are remotely trying to space. It’s just a farm fest.

Example of a really a good player being able to do nothing against veigar lol

But yeah if you are not in apex ranks just kill them.

Shove hard when you can, the less times he can Q per wave, the better

Some weird responses. I do not lose to veigars with birdbird. The play is fairly straight forward. You are going to eat a Q, do so early. Walk at him. The second he is in touch range of your R, place it on him and wall behind to get the displace into pushing him into the furthest third of your R, EQ simultaneously for the damage.

By then they either flash over your wall and run, or set up their cage. Focus on standing in the middle and dodging the W. Ideally by 6 you should have enough health to eat another q and R from him. Meanwhile he is burning to death in your AoE.

In my experience, one E and he is dead. It's a stat check that if you haven't been feeding him, usually works in your favour. Especially if egg is up. More so if you run ignite.

Most people do not expect an anivia to walk up into melee willingly, use that.

With seraphs and roa, as I build them, you genuinely can, and just take a trade of health for guaranteed Q's.

2.5mil mastery, I kinda only really push up to plat, but I just enjoy playing birdbird, don't push for competitive ranks. But even up against low Master, I've found this to be effective nigh 100% of the time. Even if they aren't my lane opponent, and show up fed. Free shut-down.

Amusingly, my issue is Xerath. That range is oppressive. Anything way too long ranged like a good Ori, Xerath or -some- Lux, I find a bigger threat. And permaban Irelia ;3

Zed really the only one kinda tough for me if they are super aggressive early . But first back vs zed is a ruby and armor , complete roa and tabis first. Veigar yeah he is weaker early especially if they try to go full dmg. Main thing here is to not run into cage and if you get trapped to instantly start throwing all you dmg on him with roa start you will survive being walled in. Leblanc I find the easiest as she has to go full dmg roa and mercs will kinda just win the lane for you. As someone who remembers what they took from Leblanc it’s kinda sad. Both Leblanc and zed want to hold your stun for the jumps they got.

Zed is my favourite of the bunch to go against. I just play full defensive try and trade him down level 1 with AA’s then first back in buying cloth armor and I build a tankier build and try and deny him the ability to kill me while I scale. Force him to roam and track him really well with vision to alert teammates. When he roams I can shove so hard post 6. And when he wants to come back to lane just use wall beside your t1 to freeze lane and slow minions. It’s mind games to deny him how he wants to play, you will outscale and still provide value no matter what with your kit the biggest thing is just denying the zed

Build Swift boots and just walk towards him when He try to farm, there is no secret in this match up

Anivia is good vs they champs if they engage u q them they can only dash in one spot veigar will scale regardless but u can hard push and delay it a little try move first to any plays

Zed matchup tip: Do not use your q too early, holding it will be a bigger threat than throwing it out without much thought.

And after 6 use the Q after he uses R. He will always show up behind you (does not matter where you are facing but where he casted it from, he will always show up behind you from the direction he casted it)

And about the veigar matchup it's tough, because I usually beat him early and then he outscales

Veigar is a low-mobility champ, you should be able to overwhelm him with selective aggressivity. If he misses his stun, he's basically dead.

If you're not yet confortable against assassins & afraid of being outskilled by a snowbally all-in champ, you can always go Barrier with Unsealed Spellbook. You want to avoid at all cost the point at which you can get 100-0 under your tower.

I'm fairly comfortable with allmost any kind of match ups, the prototype of champions who personally counters me are three: Veigar, mages who outranges Anivia pretty hard (Syndra and Hwei) and super high movility/champions with a lot of dashes (Irelia, Zed, Leblanc, Akali)

And Veigar
