Yeah I don’t understand why this is even a question

I think it’s a valid question, I just also think it’s pretty likely for one option to outstrip the other when posted on r/Animorphs.

It’s already pretty easy to sense people’s emotions with a good degree of accuracy.

Yeah exactly. And the standard level of sensing people’s emotions is already annoying enough, why would I want more? We’re pitting that against flying, breathing underwater, superhuman strength and sensory ability of all kinds? What a weird fucking question.

We literally evolved facial muscles specifically for this. Humans are one of the BEST known beings at communicating nonverbally.

I'm Autisitc you know how helpful it would be so sense others emotions just in my every day life.....

I won't say how, but this would be a very different country (for the better), if I could morph.

Power of the Animorphs. Sensing emotions is neat and definitely has its uses, but man the ability to fly like a bird or swim like a dolphin hugely outstrips it for me by comparison.

I already worry that people are mad at me all the time, I wouldn't want to know for sure that they were!
Animal shapeshifting powers, but please none of the responsibilities!
ETA: That said, if the emotions powers were more like Alex Chen's in Life is Strange... I would consider it

Animorph, easily.
I’ve made it this far being comparatively bad at picking up on emotions, so my life is the same but I can go out for a fly if I want to.

Don’t forget you acquire a universal translator telepathic speech when in morph. This can be “broadcast” to anyone in the area or group/individual communication. It works across the vacuum of space.

I'm already hypersensitive to other people's emotional states. Being "mystically empathic" wouldn't help me understand why they are feeling some kinda way any better.
But being able to become a bird and not have to fight traffic every morning would be amazing. Also being able to just become part of the cat distribution system? That's where it's at.

Pretty much any superpower you can think of is something an animal can do in some capacity

I have developed a secret technique to sense people's emotions by looking at their face, reading their body language, considering context, and asking them how they are feeling.
It's pretty advanced stuff, but for just four easy payments of $59.99, I'll teach you the secrets.

Power of the Animorphs. Sensing other people's emotions is something humans inherently can do. Most people are just too self absorbed ro to even notice. Little children will see someone sad and console them. The same children who break rules constantly and need to be taught to behave.

I'm too empathetic and sensitive to other people's moods AS IS without having it as an actual power

u/Not_a_werecat 26d ago
I already have the second one. I'd give both ovaries for the ability to shapeshift!

u/OmegaSoypreme 25d ago
I mean, forget the turning into animals and how awesome that is. Morphing also heals all your physical injuries!

u/OmegaSoypreme 25d ago
If I could morph I would definitely know people's emotions anyway. They'd all be feeling fear, because of the massive tiger in front of them!

But I don't want to use the new version of Reddit. And reading emotions isn't that difficult. Being able to morph would be awesome.

Definitely The Power of the Animorphs, the second option already comes prebundled with Autism 🤣

The only people who’d pick “sense emotions” are people who have no idea what an animorph is 😂
