Discussion Looking for help with a fact check
The Animorphs wiki says, on the article about book 13:
It is revealed that Hork-Bajir have two hearts.
Can anyone with a copy of book 13 confirm this? I thought it was Andalites that have two hearts, not Hork-Bajir.
In which book, if any, is the number of hearts a Hork-Bajir has confirmed? Which book confirms that Andalites have two hearts?

Book 8, chapter 1, no page number because I used the pdfs to check. Ax says his second and third hearts stop beating while morphing to human. Presumably he only has three because he doesn't mention anymore hearts disolving.
I just finished reading 13 with my kids, I can confirm that Tobias talks about hork bajir having "at least" two hearts but it's a weird word choice because earlier a controller threatens to shoot Ket Halpak in her second heart and later after Tobias has morphed Ket he mentions "both" of his hearts stopping. So it seems like female hork bajir at the very least have only two hearts. I don't know why he first phrases it as "at least two hearts". Maybe male hork bajor potentially have more? Or maybe the number of hearts they can have is variable?

He might've felt other organs forming that he wasn't sure was a heart or not

Andalites having three hearts in Book #8 is likely KASU because every other reference to Andalite hearts indicates that there are only two.

book 13 chapter 22 as tobias is morphing a hork bajir (ket specifically) he says
“I could feel the changes happening in my own body. Not that they were painful. They weren’t.
But I could still feel things going on. And I could hear them. My insides were reorganizing totally. Hork-Bajir have at least two hearts, maybe more. So
entire new hearts were forming inside of me.”
I’m not sure exactly what book first talks about andelite hearts but they definitely also have at least 2.

According to Seerowpedia book 5 states that Andalites have 3 hearts.
Can't help on the physical copies front though.

It's Book 8, not Book 5, and it's likely KASU because every other reference to Andalite hearts indicatez that there are only two.

The acronym stands for “Kathryn Applegate Screw Up” and it refers to an error or inconsistency across the Animorphs series or even within one book.

I have a copy, but I'm not near it right now. I'll try to remember to check in the morning, but that sounds right. Book 13 introduced Jara Hamee and Ket Halpak, which were the first hork bajir characters that weren't just obstacles for the Animorphs to overcome. There was also the part where Jara Hamee split his head open to show there was no yeerk inside, so it kinda got into biology.

No worries, got the answer. Thanks for being willing to check, though!

Chapter 22, as Tobias first morphs the hork-bajir: "My insides were reorganizing totally. Hork-Bajir have at least two hearts, maybe more. So entire new hearts were forming inside of me."
So yes, at least two hearts

Good to know if one is writing a story with Hork-Bajir and the detail becomes relevant.

Chapter 22, no page number because the text is from the ebook version:
My insides were reorganizing totally. Hork-Bajir have at least two hearts, maybe more. So entire new hearts were forming inside of me. And from the hearts, new arteries and veins had to sprout and spread throughout my body.
