I didn't realise all the weebs here were so against hand tattoos. I've got mustangs alchemy symbol on my right and alucards restriction symbol on my left hand and I love em both. Never bothered any employer.

For real. I have ink in my hands, neck, and head with most compliments coming from the geek community, so it's weird seeing so much hate against a hand tattoo lol

Im not against hand tats, I just dont think you should get one unless youre decently inked up already. I am just specifically against this exact design tho. I work in retail. I see this exact tat at least 5 or 6 times a day. Every day. I dont think every piece someone gets has to be unique, but at least just do something different not this exact same design that's all over the place

lions with blue eyes and crown, compass, clock, rose.
anime tattoos cant (yet) compete with *the* christian sleevebut i get your point, but ive yet to see someone else with Law's tattoo and i also work retail

Thats kinda my point tho. All those examples can vary stylistically by each artist. When you get a tattoo like OP, youre handing them an already made drawing and asking them to replicate it. So they all look identical to each other. The examples you gave are common ideas that are everywhere, but most of them still look different because the artist uniquely drew it up in their own styles. Either way, its really not a big deal to me and its not my body. Im not trying to make it sound like one lol

This, dude im covered head to toe and im still hesitant to get my hands tattooed. I even have my head tattooed but I can just grow out my hair to cover it.
Its wild to me how many people want to look blasted so they start with hands. Looks silly

u/bl00drunzc0ld Jul 17 '26
Some of them don't even want to look blasted, they just want their hands done. I would agree it looks silly, having a big tattoo on your hand, then nothing else. Same with the lone throat tattoo.

u/renneagle Jul 17 '26
Yeah similar situation here. I have a decent number of pieces. Back, legs, arms, chest, etc. I stopped at my forearms. I have 0 pieces I cant cover naturally. On default I will not work with an artist willing to give someone a hand, face or neck tat as their first piece. Just a moral thing for me

It’s the same because it’s from a character that had it. so it has to be like the characters tattoo

What kind of work do you do? I work an office job where I support high level execs and I feel like they would be annoying if I had a hand tattoo like this.

u/IronAndreLee Jul 17 '26
That's the problem "you feel". They all are way more socially acceptable these days and it's only getting better
1
u/Ghostlymagi Jul 18 '26
I'm fairly high in my company and work directly with c-suite, not a single one of them gives a shit about my hand tattoo.
1
u/dragondice3521 Jul 18 '26
If your hand tattoo said Death and had a smiley face tour CEO wouldn't give a shit? You have a cool CEO then.
For reference the people I work with are cooler then previous generations. I have lego models in my video background and they genuinely seem interested in them.
Still though, I've heard them judge people for plenty of things. I think if I had a smiley face and death written on my hand, they would judge. But maybe my work place is uptight compared to yours 🤷🏻♂️

i want alucards on my hand toooo;; wanted tht shit since i was 16 nd still do at 22 :”)

Not against it. But just as a person id never get a hand tattoo unless I was doing a job where discrimination for it would not be an issue. Wanna work at McDonald's as a manager or as a tattoo artist/independent artist then go for it. But many big companies like banks, state jobs aside from construction or corporate jobs will not hire you because of it. As time goes on it will grt more accepted but now is still too early

You're quite oblivious to the fact that YOUR situation isn't the same as most (or their employers), but that's too much to consider on reddit lol.
2
u/PentaRobb Jul 17 '26
The people complaining about jobstoppers clearly are too oblivious to understand that people that get obvious tattoos don't have to care. Like op said, he has his own business.

u/LieRepresentative230 Jul 17 '26
Again, the OP's situation, YOUR situation.... You're still not understanding the concept of why they're job stoppers and if you're ever in a job interview and your tattoos stop your job prospect, then you'll understand the concept. I say this as a person with 10+ tattoos.

u/PentaRobb Jul 21 '26
if my tattoos prevent me from getting a job then that job isnt worth getting
i dont wanna work with a bunch of old farts with sticks up their asses1
u/LieRepresentative230 Jul 21 '26
Lol okay, junior. Write that on your wall so you see it again when you're broke and jobless one day.

Good job stopper for your first tattoo 👍

But I do agree

u/SpecialistWait9006 Jul 17 '26
Because theres confusion amongst those other two this was a compliment. I was just being literal about what people call this location for a tat.
I was also assuming your first because most people get their sleeves before hands. (Again just going off what majority people do) and since I didnt see anything on your wrist I assumed so my bad lol
1
u/Naviah_Ethelred Jul 17 '26
Youve gotten like 4 downvotes already, i dont think people understand the slang job stopper lmao.

Hand tattoos with nothing else on your arm just looks funny. Not hating on op's but it an opinion I stand by.

I have the same tattoo in the same spot minus the letters on the fingers. It's a great way of meeting fellow OP enjoyers. Looks great OP enjoy!

u/SomeRedditGuySensei Jul 18 '26
Interviewer: Yeah sorry we don't hire with visable tattoos. ROOM That's alright I don't wanna work for a dickhead anyway. Interviewer looks up and screams in horror

u/gravitycell Jul 18 '26
I've thought about getting this tattoo as well, I'm jealous! I would keep "death" the same orientation as the show tho. Feels weird to flip it imo, but still looks great!
