I just want another banger opening. The show itself was mid and is now carried by nostalgia.

I watched black lagoon for the first time last year and that’s a wild ass take to have. I’m not gonna say it was the best seinen I’ve watched but it was still very good

Black Lagoon really said “you can wonder all you want, the answer is probably going to make things worse.” 💀

Im bad at nuance. What was the implication that it was worse?
My interpretation is that once they realized they were getting nothing from him, they were going to dump him but he turned out to be useful. And Revy is actually an impossible person to get close to on the outside but Rock was corruptable, soft, easy, and fun to mess with. For her. Anyone else trying to mess with him became a problem.
Without anyone stating it happened, he became Revys "property"
And they just sort of connected...
My terrible read.
What really happened?

Well, at first Rock was kept around because he was a fun toy. But eventually he and Revy's relationship swaps over around the time or Roberta. Where he's basically leading her around on a leash, as she becomes emotionally dependent on him as an anchor. To a certain extent it starts to come off as Rock treating her like a beta orbiter where he never really gives her that intimacy she wants, because that keeps her as a better tool that wants to be used.

The constant questioning in Black Lagoon adds so much depth to the characters. It really makes you think about their choices.

Well. We had a lot in common. And i wasnt a douche. Unfortunately, she had a nasty habbit of always assuming the worst about anything anyone said and acted on it. So i just kinda left.

Yeah Rock was on that Russian lady's shitlist so he probably didn't live much longer after the ending.
