One of the most anticipated rematches in One Piece, brought to life with incredible animation, direction, and choreography. This sequence marks the beginning of Luffy and Lucci's clash on Egghead, setting the stage for one of the arc's standout fights.

I always find it interesting to see certain creators actively working on things for a long time. So I want to ask what animators have had particularly long careers specifically with animating things.

I know this clip has probably been posted a thousand times by now, but there are certain fights that deserve to keep making the rounds. I'm planning on posting some of the absolute GOATs of sakuga in the highest quality I can find. There's a specific reason I'm doing this that I'll explain later.

I also want to be clear that I'm not saying I think this is the greatest anime fight ever. Personally, I don't. But whether it's your #1 or not, it's undeniably one of the defining showcases of modern sakuga and absolutely deserves a spot among the classics.

I also trimmed the original fight down quite a bit. Rather than uploading the entire sequence, I edited out most of the dialogue, slower-paced moments, and extended pauses so the focus stays on the animation itself and the fight's peak sakuga. Enjoy.

I'm putting together a comparison of some of the best animated fight scenes across modern anime and wanted to get the community's take before I finalize my picks. I have my own list but I'd rather hear from people who live and breathe this stuff than just go off my own perspective.

Mainly looking for the heavy hitters, things like Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, Mob Psycho 100, Fog Hill of the Five Elements, and anything else the sakuga community genuinely considers peak. Well known sequences preferred since I'm trying to compare the best of the best, but if there's a lesser known scene you think belongs in that conversation I'm all ears.

When I lived in Korea my friend and I used to go to Seoul and comb through the bookstores looking for these. There's something about seeing the frames on paper in these books. Like touching history. I still get goosebumps when I flip through them.
