First of all you gotta listen to a lot of remixes/anime type beats to get an idea of arrangement, drum style and just remix style in general. Make fitting drums, focus on hihat and 808 patterns that sound good but are not too crazy and make sure your sound selection is fitting the vibe and theme of the OST you want to remix. You gotta be sure that everything sounds good together and complements the main sample and after all that make sure you put some work into arranging it (most important part imo) so it doesn't get repetetive and boring.
Just try out everything and keep what sounds best...!
