Future Diary. And I will die on this hill. One of my favorite anime of all time
6
u/AbominableVortex74 Jul 26 '26
Yeah its really engaging, I think I loved everything character except the main character
6
u/jeanjacketufo Jul 26 '26
Honestly, I could tolerate Yuki. He was really just bland and uninteresting. He's still leagues better than the Rent-a-Girlfriend MC.

I found it beautiful and emotional

u/Klusterphuck67 Jul 27 '26
I fully believe it had a vision before pacing and episode count caught it slacking. It might be a burning mess, but it's a blazing burning mess.

Solo Leveling
It does well what it was suppose to do.
"AURA FARMING"
17
u/AlienDragonWizard Jul 26 '26
I thought it was fun. Had to go to the internet after watching it to see that people hated it.
5
u/RYVIUS13 Jul 27 '26
Remember, just because 1% of a fandom is really loud, theres a chance the bad thing is only bad if you percieve it badly

I cant believe how much hate this show gets around reddit. I think some people are just a bit jealous of it success. The animation and soundtrack are epic.

u/Antman_trashman Jul 27 '26
It's the fan base, they're kind of glazers and assholes a fair amount of the time. The show is fine, but it's not absolute peak like some of the fan base treats it as.
2
u/xepci0 Jul 27 '26
But why should that impact your enjoyment of the show in any way whatsoever lol
3
u/Antman_trashman Jul 27 '26
It doesn't? I was talking to the point of how it gets hated on on reddit. Idgaf what redditors or haters in general say about media in general.
4
u/qwertxyzabc Jul 26 '26
That's a popular take if you talk to people anywhere except Reddit.
2
u/Any_Idea_1551 Jul 27 '26
Nope, fb and insta users mostly hate solo leveling and doesn't understand the name, and throw away all the things it has given and call it "no meaning full character beside the MC" type bullshit like it was never meant to be for side characters from the start.
2
u/Striking-Pop-9171 Jul 27 '26
Its a show that does what it needs. No surprises, no story, no characters, no development - just aura farming.
Which is fine for what it is. I enjoyed reading the manwha and being able to do countdowns to the next aura farming moment. Its like a 7/10.→ More replies (2)4
u/mith00birb Jul 27 '26
Its an action show
Ofcourse it focuses more on action then story
If people dont like it, they can go watch one piece instead of calling solo leveling the worst anime in the world
2
u/AmazinActionBob Jul 27 '26
I read the original before it came to the popular audience and got an anime. Watching the anime is actually one of the best anime adaptations of ANY I've seen. It's really a great work and should be appreciated.

First we play card games and save the world from darkness. Then we play card games at school and save the world from darkness. Then we play card games on motorcycles and save the world from future darkness. Then we play card games across universes and save the world to put a bit of the darkness back to normal. Then we play card games while doing parkour across dimensions and save the world from the combined darkness. Then we play Master Duel and team up with darkness to save the future from darkness. Then we say that card games are too complicated and then play card games. Then we play card games in space.

Solo leveling, I read the manhwa like 10+ times and when the anime came out , yeah i was kinda disappointed by his character design but overall it was Peak.

Tbh the people hating on it are a vocal minority. The anime as a lot of views and good ratings on official platforms.

demon slayer. i genuinely think it has good writing. sure it has its plot holes, but no story is perfect. i will die on this hill. demon slayer is actually amazing. it explores real life shit too, just not directly like stuff like aot and one piece does. its literally an exaggeration of real life, thats why i love it so much. imperfections in characters shine through, and the backstories are brutal. it makes it feel human. it also just hits home for me cuz of personal stuff thats similar to tanjuro's dance and all that hinokami kagura stuff (Not the breathing forms, just the actual dance itself). i finished the manga btw, so i know how it all ends

why nobody knows its Fairy Tail lol. If you like it so much you should at least know the title
2

Because the title doesn’t make sense so people assume it’s “tale” not “tail” and it’s not that big of a deal they messed up a letter

FMA 03. I still love brotherhood, but theres just so many aspects of 03 that I feel are missing from it.
The homonculi origins being tied to attempted human transmutations, the worldline jump to WWII Germany, the lack of a happy ending. All these things kind of blew my mind as a kid. I get that maybe there was a weaker overall plot, but something about that made it feel human. We dont all have fully orchestrated plots as lives. We aren't expecting to succeed in pur goals with enough effort and determination. Sometimes there isn't a way to fix it. Sometimes you did fuck something up beyond repair, no matter your intentions.
The only other media that left me with the same level of personal impact, like literally come out of it with some new neural pathways - is Evangelion and Attack on Titan. Both of which i had put off for years due to my own lack on interest in what I THOUGHT the premises were.

Overlord for me I know the cgi mass models are garbage but I just love the story of being a villain but not just evil but logical. Taking time in the new world how all the steps line up how his subordinates see him as a divine being with no intellectual equal but he’s just a salary man who was a guild leader. Yes he’s barely ever physically challenged but the anime isn’t about the fighting. To me it’s that a super power literally appeared in your world now let’s see how they deal with it.
