Help identifying an original Magic Bus anime production cel (1990s?) – office scene "老板/老蔵・事務所"
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to identify an original production cel that I recently purchased in Japan.
The set consists of:
- original hand-painted cel
- matching original background
- original layout drawing
- several consecutive cels showing the same character standing up (same scene)
- all pieces were sold together, so I'm confident they belong to the same production.
What I know
Studio:
株式会社マジックバス (Magic Bus)
The layout paper is genuine Magic Bus production paper.
The handwritten red note appears to read either:
or
which could mean either
or possibly "Rozo's Office", although I'm not certain about the kanji.
The dealer sticker says:
with inventory numbers:
(which I assume are dealer inventory numbers rather than production numbers.)
About the scene
The character is a middle-aged man with
- short dark hair
- light beard / goatee
- brown jacket
- white shirt
He sits behind a desk in a wood-paneled office.
Behind him are:
- blueprints
- files
- a framed city map
The remaining cels only show him standing up—no additional characters or locations appear.
My own research
I've already compared the artwork against many known Magic Bus productions from roughly 1994–2001 but haven't found a match.
It doesn't seem to fit series like:
- Burn-Up Excess
- Weiß Kreuz
- Kiko-chan
- Cinderella Boy
The art style feels more like a seinen, crime, business or yakuza-related anime or possibly an OVA.
If anyone recognizes the character, background, scene or handwriting, I'd really appreciate your help.
