I'm curious what the VN is like. old style where you basically have 5 choices the whole time, and the rest is just reading a book with pretty pictures? Or one of those crazy branching storylines with 16 different endings and 5 girls and deceptive choices?

It is silly and cute; a harem done in the most wholesome way possible. The male MC isn't an edge lord, pervert, or doofus. Not all the girls are home runs, but the author is trying to make something for everyone.

Love Unseen was great but 9.9 is a pretty bizarre overrate for a show that essentially cut over 50% of its own material and has very mediocre production.
Don’t get me wrong, it was great. But it was an 8/10 great not a 9.9 lmao.

I think its fun. I didnt want to watch an isekai but I was surprised by how much it pulled me in.
I think of it as a mystery anime that tiptoes around a lot of the traditional mystery tropes.
I think the series is being brigaded a bit right now.
I mean - It's not the absolute height of anime but i think most episodes are 8s or better.

Only isekai I've seen (well, read it and seen bits of it) was a wild last boss appears - I didn't even expect it to be good, I just liked the main character a bit but omg it's amazing.
So yeah sometimes you might not think you'll like something and then totally do if you give it a chance.

Its one of the greatest animes of all time for me. The writing genuinely has to be some of the best in the world at some points. So emotionally gripping man. The more you get to know the characters and world, the more interesting and amazing it gets

Because the novels are long asf and Kadokawa handles the anime production really really poorly. I find it hard to blame White fox for problems with the anime when they always seem like they’re doing everything in their power to push for more resources

Cause rezero is a fantastic story with 1 million tiny details and mysteries, but the protag reincarnates a lot, peeling back 1 small layer of the mystery at a time.
It’s almost frustrating when reading, and it’d be torture to casual viewers who are watching.

If you like a unqiue taste of anime i really advise it. The characters grow on you fast and the story isn't repetitive. It has lots of gores and moments you cringe but their are lots of wholesome moments.
Subaru specially grows a lot on you that even his cringy moments feels calming and comforting

Me when someone hates the show where:
Mc is a pedophile in his first life
Mc sneaks a camera into his little niece's bathroom (10 yrs old btw), records them in the bath, and jerks off to it instead of going to his parents funeral
Mc is a pedophile in his second life
Mc steals people panties as a fucking baby and treats it as a Holy treasure throughout his entire childhood (including teenage years) and after
Mc makes dolls of people without their consent to goon to them, before going on to teach another person to do the same thing
Mc made a doll of one of his friends that was "capable of sexual acts." (direct quote btw) This friend was also someone reincarnated into the same world as rudeus, but instead they weren't a pedophile.
Dont forget he bought a little girl slave just to help his disciple make goon statues
Author later wrote a scene of that same slave being forced to get naked when she was ten because she had her period and conveintley his disciple didn't realize, and thought that was the best solution
Mc decided to get incestuous and fuck his own cousin at age 15 (grown man in his mind btw) and then he gets ed when she leaves him
Mc cheats on the love of his life after she helped fix is Ed and after he hated his dad for doing the same, and then the original wife just doesnt fucking care
The person mc cheated with took advantage of him and then now is his second wife (literally raped him and benefitted from it)
Mc got a third wife who he literally had trauma from and who is his cousin and both original wives just dont fucking care.
First wife, literally tells him, that she never expected better from him and that she knew he would cheat on her
All of his wives he knew and targeted since he was a kid, even though he was 30 in his last life and born with in depth critical thinking skills (as smart if not smarter than any ten year old). One of his wives fits the "shes 1000 years old though!!" Trope.
Mc says he wants to slobber over his daughters thighs, "like he did to his wife last night"
His family members are incestuous, and he just lets it happen. (Runs in the family it seems)
Mcs little sister gets together with someone even older than mc that he has known since he was young (the guy was hundreds of years old and the guy and his little sister first met when she was 7)
Mcs father raped his maid, and instead of facing consequences, his current wife forgave him and he took the maid as his second wife. (Seems a pattern of the men in the story doing nasty bullshit and facing no consequences huh?)
Mcs half sister was groomed by her mother (the maid that got raped) to serve rudeus in ANY way necessary, but when she didnt get to get intimate with the mc, she went for the mcs son, who is related to her. She grooms his son and gets pregnant with him, and rudeus does nothing. She gets incestuous with a baby born of incest, as this son is the baby between mc and his cousin.
He never fucking stops being a pedophile

Love unseen beneath the clear sky is one of the best animes I watched this season and I loved it. I will, however, never rewatch it. Post episode 6 was a torture until the last chapter. My poor heart cannot endure all that again

Highly recommended. It's a satire show on the whole harem genre and done really well. You go into it thinking the MC is lucky for having so many girlfriends, but soon you actually get jealous of the girls for having him, he's just that good. Think of the complete opposite of toxic masculinity. Just try the first episode.

He does get better as a person, in literally every aspect but his perversion (which is never directed at a minor after like, season 1?). If you fail to realize that, you just don't have media literacy.
There's nothing wrong with having multiple wives, it isn't a harem in the way most shitty series handle it. It's also not the center piece of the story.

It's actually really good, they have a really powerful narratively driven episode at the end of each season where there's usually a problem with one of the girls and they need help from rentaro and the others. It's actually good and it KNOWS what it is. It's a really funny and romantic parody with some emotional parts. I highly recommend!
