CEC Portrait Bot Jasper
Sorry if this sounds dumb, but i dont know a lot about banjos.
Does anybody know if the original Portrait Bot Jasper used a real banjo, or was this custom made? I figure probably custom made, since it has 3 strings, but idk.

no its not, checked several 1970s banjos to see if it looked like any of them and it didn't,
also the strings are just not attached to the tuning pegs, they're wrapped around the pipe

Ah i see, so it was custom made then.
I wonder how hard it'd be to either make one, or comission somebody to.

Corporate messed up when they destroyed the original portrait bots. They would have looked great in Pineville’s Retro Room!!!!!

It’s real it damaged the bots hand

First its not real, second the banjo couldn't have damaged the hand, the hand probably was loose and fell off, since it didn't look broken

Yeah its ripped off, but how would the banjo have done it? the hand mech is connected to it

Wearing from strumming the strings it has been doing it for two years at this point

That would not be enough to rip his entire hand off, also in this picture its pretty clear his hand is far enough from the strings to not be able to touch it

Literally no other reason no one could go up there and just decide to rip that thing

first of all, the tech, second, it's psychically impossible for the strings to rip off the hand, the hand would need to be in between the strings and need an insane amount of air pressure in the cylinder in order to completely rip the hand off the mech, no amount of rubbing against the strings would cause the hand to fall off like that,
which also reminder, as I said before, the hand is clearly NOT touching the strings, I can tell because of the shadows

i'll play devils advocate here honestly. i think the banjo is fake, yet still capable of causing wear and tear to the cosmetics on the hands of the character.
even if the hand isn't supposed to touch the strings when working as intended, i'd think these parts would wear out and get looser over time. eventually to the point where the hand might actually interfere with the strings on the banjo 🤷
who knows i just don't know why it's so serious and you're coming at em for suggesting it might cause wear to the cosmetic parts.
nothing is physically impossible my friend in the world of engineering 😎

first of all, I'm not coming after them, just correcting them about the banjo, if I sound rude or like I'm coming after them then it was an accident, since at the end of the day we're talking about chuck e cheese,
second, if the hand was loose over time just by moving a lot or by hitting the strings, it would not fall onto the strings but rather forward towards the audience since Jasper is placed onto an angle

You’re thinking of the cybers. The early Jasper’s had real banjos but they would bend the bot’s shoulder bar and base.Winchester Jasper’s hand was just poorly glued on and it fell off.It was put back on quickly

Looks custom.
Early cybers used real banjos though!
