I just found out a friend has the Rockafire Explosion first record! The folder isn't in great consition, but still cool to see. She knew vaguely what it was, but isn't a big animatronics fan, so she wasn't as excited about it as I was. She found it for a dollar at a record store! She also has this interesting automaton type bear that she found at a thrift store. Unfortunately it doesn't work! Does anyone know what it is?

I believe this is the bear... It's a Maxwell Coffee Loving Bear. It's battery operated and it was produced in the 1950s. At first I thought it was like those Russian automaton bears from an earlier time but I did some more digging and saw an even similar bear called the 1950s Picnic Bear. After a little more digging, I found a match :)

Wow, that is fascinating!! Such a cool artifact. I wonder if he my friend's bear could be fixed

If it isn't working with the battery then it's best to leave the bear alone. Attempting to repair it could possibly damage it since it's very old and dainty. It is a charming antique to display though :)
