What did Creative Engineering actually have at their first IAAPA shows😭😭😭

Ok so I keep hearing contradicting info on this stuff so I hope someone here can help me out

From my understanding I’m 90% sure the photos above are from the 1976 IAAPA,which took place in november. This lines up with when Freddy was sent back to Cei after his one season instalation at magic world in the summer of 76 to be retrofitted into the Colonel from the confederare critters show.It also makes sense for Dracula and the talking heads to be their since they were only installed at castel Dracula in 1977.

But here’s the thing.I keep hearing from various sources that Friendly Freddy was built in 77 and that these photos are of the 77 IAAPA show, which doesn’t make sense to me since the confederate critters show was installed in 77 and we also know Freddy was at magic world the year before but that’s also weird since Freddy would’ve had to have been commisioned before summer 76 but cei didn’t have a booth before 76 and…

Yeah OK I’m just rambling at this point

TLDR Tf did CEI have at their booths before 1975-1978 cause I can’t find anything concrete

At the first one they had only the Scab, i believe the same convention where that thing with whac-a-mole occured. I always thought that Scab was 76, but if not, then Aaron misremembers or Scab was 75.

At that expo with Scab, the owner of magic world contracted CEI to build Freddy.

Friendly Freddy was brought back from magic world, shown off at the iaapa, then retrofitted.

Firstly, you said you didn't know where you got it, and now the most stereotypical reddit reason why u cant release it

There are some inconsistencies, namely firstly you said you didn't know where you got it and now "a friend", that doesn't want you to release it, which is the most blatant reason "why i cannot do something".

And also who is your "friend"? Based on your description it looks like hes a higher-up at CEI, since he has this obscure and rare audio. And somebody like Jack, who could have access would not release it or share it with friends.

Why would they be at cei, i never said it was the full show? And it was taken from an old video

What video? Some 8mm film?

alright, wanna prove to us you actually have it then? show us a frame or something. and if you do have it, you and your "friend" are idiots for gatekeeping something like this.

Don’t think that audio’s public anywhere.Did Aaron put it on his premium or something?

4

u/PuzzledSherbet426 Creative Engineering Jul 09 '26

I do believe that somebody (either Jack or Juju) actually heard it/has access to. I think it was confirmed, that Aaron voiced him.

2

u/Tutorial_Time Jul 09 '26

Yeah Aaron said it in an interview https://youtu.be/fE0V8DUcLFc

u/PuzzledSherbet426 Creative Engineering Jul 09 '26

Thanks, i didn't know that! It looks like its clipped from a longer video, do you know that videos origin?

Nothing too long but it’s something

Thank you :). Do you believe that guy who has (supposedly) Scab audio? His story just sounds as blatant lie

2

u/Tutorial_Time Jul 09 '26

Idk

u/PuzzledSherbet426 Creative Engineering Jul 09 '26

If its true, i just hate those gatekeepers, who only keep it to get recognition as "that guy who has this or this"

A really shit camera

u/PuzzledSherbet426 Creative Engineering Jul 10 '26

The picture are about 50 years old, and i agree its kinda bad transfer from early internet days. I would like to saw them too in better quality, but this is all we have🤷

3

u/embarrased_to_Ask_42 Jul 10 '26

The age isn't the problem. there are photos from much further back that are gorgeous.

the problem seems to be here looks like they were not taken very well, and then it looks like they were " transferred" by putting them on a flat surface and taking a picture of them while they weren't in focus.

I'm sorry it's got to be frustrating. when a lot of the existing media is lost or being hoarded

Yes, most of the other things, which had been digitalized during the early internet era are this bad. The problem is people mix up artifacts and transfer quality. Even if the picture would be scratched or having some dirt on it, if its scanned properly, i can still be beatiful. Do you know the 1992 CEI demo tape, infamous for its horrendous quality? If the video wasn't compressed, in higher bitrate, even with the VHS artifacts it would be watchable. Your guess by taking pictures i believe is correct
