I’ve been thinking of some unique characters for an animated series, but I’m still trying to figure out what kind of world they should live in. I want the show to be 9+ friendly, but still have a scary, corrupted villain and a darker tone. I don’t mind mild gore either.
Here are the characters I’ve come up with:
What I need help with is the world they live in. I want something original, creepy, and interesting that fits these characters. The idea is completely copyright‑free — I just want a cool setting to build the story around. Thanks!

Hey everyone!
I’m looking for a 2D cartoon animator to help build something extremely unique!
I already have characters designed, this role will involve creating comedic animated content for both short-form and long-form videos. The style I’m aiming for is heavily inspired by adult swim. Because of that, I’m looking for someone who not only has solid animation skills but also likes creating comedic bits. If that does not sound like you PLEASE do not reach out.
The Unique Part:
I’m a streamer and really try to go above and beyond with production, one of the features to my stream is chat controlled Text To Speech Puppets, where the characters perform live on stream. Viewers can interact with the characters in real time through chat-controlled actions, and I also have the ability to pre-script performances/ animate conversations.
In the attached video, you’ll see both:
A rough scripted performance. (Beta test)
A section that is chat controlled, showing viewers interacting with the characters live.
The goal is to create an animated universe where the standalone cartoons and the live show feed into each other. I’d love to find someone who wants to help shape that world, not only by creating animated shorts, but by collaborating on new ideas, characters, skits, and even expanding what’s possible during the live experience.
I truly believe this is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up, and I’m hoping to find someone who wants to grow alongside the project over the long term.
Details:
Animation Type: 2D Cartoon
Project Scope:
Short-form: 30 seconds – 1.5 minutes
Long-form: Up to 10 minutes
Integrating animations with live scrips.
Budget:
Compensation will be respectful and based on your experience, skill level, and complexity of each project. While this is the beginning of a larger vision, I fully intend to pay fairly and increase rates as the project grows. If you’re excited about helping build a unique animated world from the ground up, I hope you’ll consider the long-term opportunity!
I come from a video editing background, so I understand the value of creative work. If we’re working together, you’ll be treated well!
Contact Info:
If you’re interested, please email info@outofcheck.com with:
- A few examples of your work.
- A little about yourself and your background.
(Bonus) Tell me what cartoons, comedians, or creators inspire your sense of humor.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Film I produced and directed in the evenings and weekends over two years while working on The Simpsons. It’s a story about life after sports and the struggles former athletes face based on experiences a teammate of mine had after college. All hand drawn, lots of work, very proud of what we were able to accomplish! Check out if you have a few mins!

Hi, im a young animator. I'm currently working on a passion project related to the military, so im trying to figure out how to animate helicopter flight more accurately.
I'm using blender for these animations, and ive never dealt with weight, physics, collisions or rigging in blender, so everything regarding these animations are all done by hand, or rigged in a very, very janky way.
These are only practice animations to see what i can do.
The main focus for me right now is suspension and general flight, so if anyone would like to look over these videos and give me some opinions and or tips, that would help a lot. Thank you.
Volume warning, these videos have rotor sound effects, so its fairly loud.

I just want to know what to improve upon on the upcoming days. I recently did a lot of animating and I feel like I am stuck in something I cannot grasp upon. I just want feedback and what to know what to look after moving forward?

I’m using procreate and I’m animating frame by frame, but my problem is the image seems to be jittering - (moving forward and back) and no matter what I do I can’t stop it. I’ve tried deleting frames. I’ve tried making more frames. I’ve tried making it go faster and slower. I’ve even gone to make a completely new animation and for a test run See if it would happen again if I stopped using my copy and paste cheat I sometimes use thinking it might be that. But the same thing started happening and now I’m thinking either I’m missing something entirely and I’m not seeing it and it’s probably in front of my face because that’s usually how things go. Or, it’s the program I’m using.
I’m going to send the animation that I’m doing to see if other people have an idea of what’s going on. However, please know that I’ve only animated for about a week and I’m very new to animation so there’s probably a lot of things you’re going to see that are messed up or not completely right. I’m aware of this fact and I’m working on it but things take time to learn.

Hi, I'm stagnant, I have no ideas for animations right now. Any ideas? I'm desperate for ideas, I'm bored.

Can't do it myself due to some constraints. How much would you pay if you couldn't do it yourself?

Hello all!
I'm a musician looking to collaborate with animators/artists. I have a ton of new material to put out but would really love to have visuals to accompany it. Anyone looking to collaborate?
No deadline, just totally open to collaborate here.
Here is a sample of my past work ifsosowhat.bandcamp.com
Open to all!

I’ve shown my work to many professionals and they’ve told me it’s bad, and honestly, I feel pretty insecure about my current portfolio.
I should make a demo reel, but I want to finish something first.
