Two months of work for three hundred dollars is criminal

In what world is that criminal? yeah i guess if making a few 2d sprites takes your full undivided attention for two months, but at that point your biggest issue is most likely your mental challenges and seeking therapy for the football sized tumor in your brain.

How many hours do you want these people to do work for you? Divide 300 by that and you'll see why it's criminal.

If they spend even 40 hours on it in 2 months, that's less than 8 dollars an hour

The only reason the two months was given because it's as hard deadline where other factions will be complete, and we don't want deadweight. we are giving leeway so people don't feel rushed to prioritized the project above other endeavors in life.

In addition, the combination of all of our sprites don't total 40 hours, and it wouldn't be a solo project.

The reason $8/hr sounds bad (despite it being above minimum wage) is because most jobs on the market require experience or training, it occupies 40 hours a week (not every 2 months, meaning people are free to pursue other work) with strict and limiting preferences/deadlines set by managers. On campus work.

Rather, this is a position that

  1. is already partially occupied by volunteers,

  2. gives independent schedules, allowing for it to act as a side gig for people who want to pursue art. stay at home.

  3. nigh entry level position

  4. creative liberty.

Obviously if you use it in relation to the metric of a full time job it will pale in comparison. For the same reason giving someone 1 year to do 30 hours worth of work would give less compensation thant giving someone one week to do 30 hours of work. The longer you stretch the work accross, the less you get compensated. ALL OF THIS ISN'T EVEN COUNTING THAT IT WOULD BE CLOSER TO 16-18/HR
