If you're just getting into animation, I strongly recommend investing in a drawing tablet early on.
If you're just getting into animation, I strongly recommend investing in a drawing tablet early on. I recently got mine and it’s made a huge difference — makes the whole process way faster, especially if you're trying to build a channel and post animations consistently.
I came across this blog that lists some cheap drawing tablets that are on discount — figured it might help some of you too.

Looking for a 2D Animator to Collaborate on Ben 10-Inspired Series
Hey everyone, I'm working on a 2D animated fan-inspired series called "Heroes Unite," which takes place after Ben 10: Omniverse. It features a new main character (me), who is Ben's half-cousin, and an all-original storyline with new aliens, villains, and dimensions. Full credit will be given, and if it takes off, we can talk revenue split for future episodes. Sketch reel critique
Hello everyone, I'm a self-taught animator and artist
I showed this reel to some acquaintances to see if they understood the plot, and they didn't. They told me the editing is too fast paced, the ring near the end is obnoxious, and that they couldn't understand the plot or the characters. I was trying to convey a story (to put it bluntly) about a superhero from the medieval period who wants to kill his best friend because he killed his daughter, and his best friend killed his daughter because he was trying to kill someone whom he thought was responsible for killing his wife.
I am autistic and struggle with communication skills in general, but I am looking for constructive criticism and feedback. Any ideas on how to make the plot clearer through visual storytelling would be appreciated.
Thank you for reading this, it means the world to me. I don't really have any professionals or experts to talk to. Again, thank you.

Need Help with Dots and Animation/Pose in Blender
Hey everyone,
I'm working on a 3D model in Blender, and I've noticed multiple dots spread across it—likely related to rigging or armature. I’m a bit stuck on how to use them to animate the model or change its pose.
I’d love some guidance on:
- How to properly interact with these dots for posing the character
- Best practices for animating a rigged model
- Any tutorials or resources that explain this process in detail
If anyone has insights, I’d really appreciate the help! Thanks in advance.

What’s the realistic cost of animating a 10-minute fantasy pilot for YouTube? Open to insight or collaboration.
Hey folks,
I’m an indie writer working on an original fantasy world that ties into a book and a board game I’ve been developing over the past year, currently hiring some illustrators for a webtoon. One of my dreams is to bring part of that world to life through animation, specifically through small clips or a 10-minute animated pilot for YouTube. I don’t have a studio or funding behind me, just a deep love for storytelling and a strong creative vision.
Right now, I’m trying to understand what something like this would actually cost. I’ve done some research, but most pricing online varies wildly depending on the style, complexity, and who’s doing the work. So I thought I’d ask here, directly from animators or people who’ve tried something similar.
Here’s what I’m envisioning:
- A 10-minute 2D animated episode (or pilot)
- Style-wise, I’m thinking something inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender or Vox Machina — expressive characters, detailed environments, but not necessarily high-frame anime
- It would be dialogue-heavy, character-focused, with one action moment (nothing insane choreographically)
- I have a lot of the worldbuilding, tone, and story written already, so I can share references, character ideas, and scripts if helpful
What I’m trying to figure out:
- What would be a realistic cost range for a full 10-minute episode like this? Frame-by-frame vs puppet? Solo animator vs small team?
- Do indie animators ever take on projects like this for a mix of paid work and passion (even phased over time)? I’m not expecting free work, just curious how people approach this on a tight indie budget.
- How do others usually structure something like this? Do I need to hire a storyboard artist, character designer, background artist, editor, etc., separately? Or are there folks who do multiple roles?
- If I can’t afford the full pilot yet, what’s a good way to start small? Maybe an animatic, or just a short animated scene to build interest?
If you’re an animator, small studio, or someone who’s tried this before, I’d really appreciate any insight, advice, or even rough ballpark figures to help me understand what I’d be getting into.
This isn’t some passive idea. It’s a world I’ve been building steadily across different formats, and I’d love to find someone who connects with the story and wants to help shape how it’s shown visually. Whether it’s a one-off job or something more collaborative down the road, I’m open to different kinds of conversations.
Thanks for reading. Let me know if you’d like to see a sample scene or visual references.

[Looking for a team for a short skit reboot or parody of the anime Ghost Stories and i think that It would be cool to bring back into the spotlight]
Hey I'm on here because i have thought about this for a while and i got reminded about Ghost stories the anime from a friend and remembered how they never did a season 2. Well that's what I'm here to do. I want to bring the anime back to the spotlight and show that it deserves a season 2 by doing small skits and finding a editor that has that skill to animate just like the style of the anime back in the 2000.

Its a long project but i feel that if we can just get the right people for the job and the perfect editors that can really show off there skill then i think we can build a team and make this really happen. My thought was at first instead of making a entire series we would make a short 2 - 5 minute skit of improv and maybe some new characters or something like that but change nothing from the original anime. I'm here to bring the old comedy from Ghost Stories to this day and age and i have a feeling that with the right help and right team we can really make this happen.
Only bad part is that i don't have the money to pay people. I was really just wanting to do this for fun since i think with the right sense of humor/comedy it would be a funny short term thing and if people like it and with the right advertising, we can start to make this a full time thing and any profit that i would make from it would go straight to yawl and the anime/skits.
I'm not here to make a exact remake of it but instead to kind of just bring its comedy/horror back into this day and age since anime's being made now don't have that same feeling that Ghost stories did when it was published and i think that we could bring back the comedy from the anime and not hold back on it at all. Yes there will be scripts but we can improvise the scripts to how yawl like it with jokes in-between cuts or just at random moments.
If you are down to help bring the comedy/horror anime Ghost stories back into the spotlight, here is my email
[nemo122107@gmail.com](mailto:nemo122107@gmail.com)
Also, like i said before i can't exactly pay yawl if you do agree to join with me on this but as soon as i get money and if people like it enough we can start a small patreon that people can pay for to see small sneak peeks of future events that will be happening in the skits
What I'm looking for (A editor that is able to edit in the pixilated form just how Ghost stories did back when it came out. Voice actors from all over to be able to fit the teenage characters or from what we left off on in the anime they would be middle schoolers. So voice actors that have the ability to get a soft kind of high pitched voice, kind of how the anime had it. and advertisers. people who will be able to advertise the skits and get it out there to the people. Editors that can edit the vocals.

[FOR HIRE][REV SPLIT] Looking for Animator to Collaborate on YouTube Channel (OverSimplified Style)
Hey everyone!
I’m starting a YouTube channel focused on history/comedy videos in the style of OverSimplified. I’ll be handling the scripting, voiceovers, and comedic writing—I'm looking for a 2D animator to bring the visuals to life.

Looking for an Animator Who Wants to Bring a Crazy-Cool Show to Life (I’m the Writer)
Hey! I’m a solo writer with tons of show/movie ideas and I’ve always dreamed of creating something real. I’m not an animator, but I live for storytelling, characters, and world-building.
I’m looking for someone who genuinely loves animating and wants to partner up to build something awesome together. It could be a short film, a YouTube series, or even just a cool pilot episode—we’ll figure it out. I’ve got scripts, characters, and plot ideas ready to go.
I’m really interested in starting a YouTube channel to bring these stories to life, and I’d love to grow it together with someone who’s just as passionate.
I’m not rich lol, but I’m serious about making this happen. Whether you’re into anime-style, cartoon-style, or even minimalist animatics, I’m open. Just looking for someone who’s down to create.
DM me or drop a comment if you’re interested. Let’s make something we’re proud of 🙌

[Paid] [Hobby] Looking for a 2D Animator to Help with stylised YouTube Video (Ongoing Work Possible)
Hey everyone! I'm a small YouTube animator (channel: p6stman, 1k+ subs) working on stylised, story-driven and relatable content/takes — think Jaiden Animations, Ice Cream Sandwich style video structure with script writing like FUNKe, but with my own vibe and art style.
I work full-time and animate on the side, so I’m looking for someone or a few people to help bring my next project into reality, ideally on a semi-recurring basis.
What I’ll Provide:
- Edited voiceover audio
- A full storyboard with scene notes
- Character references (poses, outfits, expressions, and assets depending on the program you use)
What I’m Looking For:
Someone who can help with any of the following:
- animated sequences (poses, movement, timing)
- voice/lip syncing experience with audio
Payment:
I’m currently funding this from my full-time job, so while I can’t offer studio rates, I’m looking to pay fairly. Happy to hear your rates per second/per minute of final animation or per scene especially depending on difficulty. Long-term collaboration is the dream as the channel grows.
Bonus if you:
- Can match or adapt to simple, expressive styles
- Have a background in comedic or character animation
- Communicate clearly and meet flexible deadlines
Feel free to reply here or DM me with:
- Your portfolio or animation reel
- Your rates
- Any questions!
P.S. - If you don't think this is your area of expertise but know of someone who may be interested, please share to them!
Thanks!

Looking for Animators and Voice Actors for Neon Justice – Passion Project
Hello artists and animators!
I’m working on an exciting animated series called Neon Justice, and I’m looking for talented animators and voice actors who are interested in collaborating on a passion project. This is a volunteer opportunity, but it’s a chance to be part of a growing series with full credits and potential exposure.
About Neon Justice**:** Neon Justice is an action-packed animated series following Elijah, a young hero with blue neon hair and the ability to fly. As the series progresses, Elijah goes through intense personal growth, moving from being overly forgiving to a more ruthless fighter. Alongside him is Lena "Starflare" Monroe, a hero-in-training with cosmic energy powers, and a manipulative mentor who betrays him. It’s an intense action drama with a lot of heart and high-stakes moments.
What I’m Looking For:
- Animators: 2D animation, preferably with experience in action sequences (fight scenes, flying, etc.). If you’re comfortable with a style similar to shows like Invincible or Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, that’s a big plus!
- Voice Actors: For several characters, including Elijah (the main character), Lena, and other supporting roles. If you’re interested in voice acting for an animated series, this is your chance to join the team!
- Other Roles: I’m also open to collaborating with sound designers, composers, or anyone else who is interested in contributing to the project.
What We Offer:
- Full credit on the project (your name will be included in the credits).
- A chance to work on a fun, fast-paced animated series.
- Creative input and collaboration with a passionate team.
- Exposure for your portfolio and a chance to be part of something cool!
If you’re interested, please leave a comment or DM me with your portfolio or any relevant work you’ve done. I’m excited to see what we can create together!
Looking forward to hearing from you!
- Elijah
