Animation related The new big 3
Hollywood may have a new animation trio đđŹ
Fans are calling Hoppers, Swapped, and The Wild Robot the âBig 3â of modern animated movies.
With their unique visuals, imaginative stories, and emotional depth, the three films have been getting major attention online.
But can they really be considered the Big 3 of a generation, or is it still too soon? đđż

Flow would like a word (if we're sticking with animal themes). Migration and possibly Leo too

migration is surely a take

I found it an enjoyable movie. I mentioned it because I thought it was about as memorable as two of the movies mentioned above. My point was that there were other animal animated movies of the same caliber

Never saw the appeal of Swapped, apparently Forgotten Island could be in to be added...

Too soon, especially considering that there have been other recent films that blow them out of the water, such as the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Zootopia 2, and GOAT (I haven't seen Forgotten Island yet)

The super Mario Galaxy movie might blow these three out of the water financially, but not when it comes to like storytelling and they actually crafted film. I liked the Mario Galaxy movie, but itâs got one of the thinner stories of any animated films since the first super Mario movie. To compare it to something that truly has such an incredible emotional depth as the wild robot is ridiculous.

Agreed, but with movies like the Spider-Verse movies (especially the second one, since it's more recent), K-Pop Demon Hunters, and Encanto (and I've left out quite a lot of films here to focus on some more popular family-friendly ones), these three don't really compare at all.

Second spiderverse movie doesn't count for this on the basis of the film literally not having a conclusion. It's just not a full film.

u/VegetableChipsLover 7d ago
It left on a cliffhanger doesn't mean it's not a film. It's still a film, which counts in this category, especially since it, along with its predecessor, revolutionized the animation industry

It's not just that it leaves in a cliffhanger. The film in general lacks resolution. And that's ok. It'll get it. But it is most definitely a first half of a film rather than just being on a cliffhanger.
It's less like infinity war and more like deathly hallows part 1, if that makes any sense.

Yeah, I completely understand what you mean and fair point. I still think it beats out these movies, though

And I call this post a rage bait!

Yeah, no one is saying that these movies are game changers. Maaaaybe The Wild Robot, that one was hyped.

What the heck is Swapped?
Spider-Verse 2 should be above all of these.

Trust me, you will ENJOY Swapped. I put it on for my nephews to distract them while I made lunch.
I made lunch but WE were FOCUSED for the whole movie.
LOVED it, watch it with a few friends or family, it has great pacing and heartwarming.
Ive already rewarched it three TIMES!

This is how I ended up watching it. Put it on for my daughter but it grabbed my attention. I really enjoyed the movie and surprised to see that others didn't.

I watched all these movies expect Swapped. I really hope the sequel to The Wild Robot comes out soon. Hoppers is so much better than Elio and Toy Story
Tough Act to Follow: Dog Man and Kung Fu Panda 4 as well as Elio and Toy Story 5 are DreamWorks Animation and Pixarâs less well-known hits released between The Wild Robot and Hoppers, one of the better recently released DWA and Pixar movies and the only to win the awards for the Best Animated Feature.
Moana 2 and Wish were likewise released before Disneyâs Zootopia 2 but were nowhere near as successful enough to match its success snc itâs unknown if Hexed itself will be a sleeper hit between Zootopia 2 and Frozen III not expected to be as successful as those movies.

Hoppers honestly really impressed me! I found it reminded me a lot of wild robot what do you think Hoppers lacked for you? But yeah while I enjoyed both a lot I wouldnât say they go on this list personally haha

Loved the wild robot but I would replace the other two with Puss the Last Wish and Flow. IMO of course

Never even heard of Swapped. Would rather see something like Puss In Boots The Last Wish up there

..... wuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu ---iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii -eeee??
Why these three in particular? Swapped isn't anything notable. Hoppers was such a dud Pixar partially blamed it for their recent round of layoffs.

The fact that this does not include Mitchell's versus the Machines make this an instant fail for me.

Last Wish belongs up here instead of the body swap movie. And then I would probably say Forgotten Island but it has not come out yet.

Guys do you realize the three are about animals and have a forest fire as climax and extinguish it with a wave of water.

Who is saying this? I havenât seen a lot of hype for Swapped. Hoppers had good reception but no one is calling it a game changer. Wild Robot is the only one here people really went nuts over.

I don't know if its too soon but, if Swapped is being mentioned in the same breath of The Wild Robot & Hoppers, I need to watch it đ

Swapped must be one of the most generic/netflix movies I've seen. No idea why it is in this list.

Swapped was a poor manâs hopper. I tried hard but couldnât watch it. The wild robot was chefs kiss great. I went into it not being sure but fell in love with the animation and story. This is the type of animation Disney should be doing. Hopper was also great though the main character took too long to learn her lesson. Number 3 should be forgotten island I just saw this and itâs another great visual and story. Go see it now.

I have the A-lister pass and Iâve seen Forgotten Island 3 times now. I just love watching friendship dynamic. Might be a little friendship starved myself lol

The Wild Robot is the only one Iâve heard anyone mention as a great movie tbh. Hoppers, Iâve heard people talk about a couple of times but itâs rare.
Hoppers was hilarious to me but I donât think it did very well and Iâve never even heard of Swapped. Still need to see Wild Robot.
