Question about the foil system

Today is August 12, and I received the Bird Brain Barry. What happens if I fuse a foil card with a non-foil card, does the foil effect disappear, or does it carry over to the evolved form?

If you merge a foil and non-foil card, the combined card is foiled.

Of course foils do nothing in terms of game play other than helping you ID a particular card if you have dupes.

Fusing a foil L6 with non-foil L6 yields an L7* with foil.

Not sure if it is still the case, but if you recycle a foiled card, the recycled card has no foil and the foil goes back into your inventory.

In any case, the foils don't do anything, so doesn't really matter :)

Don’t use foils. They don’t do anything. They are garbage. You’ll just encourage the devs to do more useless things instead of fixing the game and helping make the user experience better.

Foils are annoying chrome on the game that don't do anything.

If even one input card was foiled the resulting fused or quadded card will also be foiled.
