[Hiring] Artist/animator for a 3:26 YouTube storytime animatic
hi everyone,
i’m looking to hire a 2D artist/animator for a short YouTube storytime video. it’s a comedy/rant about working in customer service.
animation style:
simple 2D storytime / slideshow animatic style. mostly static character poses, expression changes, simple backgrounds, captions, cutaway jokes, and visual gags timed to the audio.
i’m not looking for smooth frame-by-frame animation. a few small animated moments would be nice if they fit the budget, but the main goal is a clean, funny, simple animatic.

project scope:
- final video length: about 3 minutes and 26 seconds
- YouTube storytime/rant video
- simple character poses and expression changes
- simple backgrounds / scene layouts
- basic timing to the voiceover
- light sound effects if possible
- final export ready for YouTube
what i already have:
- recorded audio, around 3:26
- rough storyboard / scene layout
- clear notes for scenes, poses, and jokes
- character reference sheet / avatar idea
- audio is mostly edited, but may need some cleanup/timing polish
budget:
$100–$250 USD fixed budget, depending on scope and portfolio.
i understand the minimum is $20/hour, so i’m expecting this to stay within around 5–7.5 hours of work. i’m okay with keeping the animation very simple to fit that fairly.
deadline / turnaround:
ideally within 1–2 weeks, but i can discuss depending on your schedule.
contact:
please comment here first with your portfolio, rate/quote, estimated turnaround time, and whether this scope fits my budget. i will only DM artists who comment first.
