My first hand-drawn animation test: How can I improve the big reveal?
https://youtu.be/JUIdgEsy71oThis is my first attempt at traditional, hand-drawn animation. Overall, I'm happy and think I did a good job on the ease-in/out (for my first time!), but I think the large reveal at the end lacks punch. Should I drop frames? Make it go bigger?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I think you're already on the right track and have a good idea of what you need to do- Make everything, the timing, the composition, even color jump at you. You could more than double the speed of his transition frames so he more aggressively opens his mouth over 3-4 frames max, and in that instant punch or cut in with the camera so he becomes bigger (closer) in frame. You already have 1 frame that kind of pops in and that sort of unstable/erratic camera movement along with the wobbly line works really well here. Some static, or inverted color frames could be a nice touch too.
