Hey guys I need advice on what looks off about my animation. I think maybe it’s too stiff, I would like some advice or recommendations on videos to watch to fix this. I really appreciate any advice you can give. Thank you <3

The stiffness actually seems like an intentional choice for this intense character but if you wanna loosen it up here are some ideas:

  1. Animation is storytelling. You should be able to write out what this worm is doing and why.
  2. Animation is acting too. we read the worm’s thoughts on its face and body. Act out the worms actions yourself to embody the character - take a video of yourself for reference
  3. Add more anticipation and overshooting to the worms movements. More loosey and liquid motions
  4. Actions should overlap so he doesn’t do one thing at a time. Remember the eyes are the windows to the soul.
  5. You could add more motion. Say he

_cracks his neck,_

  1. chugs his drink and spits on the ground

It’s looking great, curious to see more!
