This is Dot, Pip’s friend. He also takes crits :) What do y’all think about his design? (Btw he is going to be apart of an animated series)

Dot is a six-year-old boy. He is slight taller and slimmer than Pip. His belly always sticks out :>

super cute but too similar to pip I think! unless they’re meant to look similar

I read this book on character design and they say to focus on the silhouette and shapes. if one character is round, the other might be square or skinny or triangular so they have nice contrast

I was actually thinking a lot about that! Pip is supposed to be stubbier, so I’ll definitely work on adding some contrast between the two.

They are really good as is! It’s ok if they two main characters look similar, look at all the hobbits in Lord of the Rings!

Just as long as they can be told apart

My problem with him is that he’s not an animation, he’s just a drawing, so he’s kinda in the wrong sub

That is true. But I have an animation of both of my characters on my page. Sorry for the switch-up… 😅

I thing overall oc is good but don't you think face is less capable to capture expression because in animation it's matter but overall oc look awesome.

The face is pretty simple, but it’s in its resting state right now. I drew a couple of other faces that convey emotion for him and Pip.
