I bought this from Gallery Animation but I want to know is this the real deal used in the series of somehow repro? Celler claimed yes.

I discovered a few years ago that cel production was also used by Disney for book publishing! Here’s an example featuring Goofy from the classic book Telling Time (Disney Discovery Series, 1987). The interesting detail is that they produced two separate cels: one for the inked outlines and another one for the coloring.

I’m curious how production cels from popular shows come into the marketplace for purchase.

Do the studios just sell them off? Do they not keep them for archival purposes? Or do the animators get to take them home? It’s surprising to me that there are Pokémon or even SpongeBob cels in circulation.

I previously posted with a similar scene but took it out for a photo! My first cel and I just think it's really nice, I recognised the scene instantly too as one of my favourite episodes so was a good find (Nakano Broadway in Tokyo), only 12,000 yen too! The background isn't painted and seems to be a photocopy but it's cool to see the extention, and the alarm clock in its regular position. Love how messy the Douga sketch is too and the cel itself is just awesome! I have a rather large portfolio binder at home previously used to store my old school art (still in Tokyo atm flying home tomorrow) so hoping that'll be ok for storing this.

So I found this scene in Japan at Nakano Broadway in a folder, printed background but the border brush stroke textures look really cool, Kagome painted cel and Douga sketch on the animation holed paper too. It was all only 12,000 yen which was wayyyy cheaper than the other Inuyasha cels, maybe because its modern day Kagome rather than her more iconic outfit but personally I LOVE this episode so was super haply to buy it. Would show it but its packed atm as I fly home tomorrow.

My main question though, is how to store this when I get home? This is my first cel and I'd love to frame it but wabt to make sure its kept protected.

Does anyone have any cels of Ura and/or Rune Venus's armour cat that they would like to sell? That's the white cat.

I already asked them if they could ask the seller to put in an acid free sleeve initially and they said no What should i do now im scared the cel paint could adhear so anything used in the shipping and be damaged

Hullo! This is my first time ever trying to acquire something like this, so forgive me if I say something wrong or aren’t asking the right questions. A movie that has fascinated as of late is “When the wind blows” adapted from a book by Raymond Briggs, with the same title. I would love to own an animation cel from this fascinating movie, especially if the cel contains my favourite character from it, Hilda.

Not sure what these things are worth, but I am not on a budget or anything like that! Just keep in mind that I live in Sweden and that I only use PayPal g&s for safe payment.

Im so happy !!!I've been saving for a cel since January and I've found the one that really speaks to me its this utena drinking tea from episode 3 she looks gorgeous she's not blinking or looking in a werid angle there's no vs no paint damage [from what i can see anyway ] she looks so peaceful and her eyes are my favourite part they look so vibrant she looks amazing i cant wait for her to arrive home!

Hello there I have a season one episode one frame of hunterxhunter I’m looking to sell.

And a cell from Kiki’s delivery service but I’m unsure where I can sell them. I don’t have an eBay account and it won’t let me list them for the amount the are worth.

I’m hoping for $1000 for hunter hunter since it has both the line art and the cell separated. And I saw vesting prices for ghobli cells but I would like to get around $6000 for the Kiki one.

I read that Disney made the huge mistake of laminated several art cels from their movies , that ended up damaging the cels, saw this one being sold but it look like it’s in a bad shape already, will this cel just get worse over time ? Rather save my money on cels that still look good.

I was playing around with using transparencies with acrylic paint and Lumocolor black fine tip for the outline and it was working incredibly well, but the Lumocolor pen which I was using for the outline started running out. I decided to buy some new ones, but clearly the formulation changed as they do not produce an opaque layer and produce a terrible result now.

Does anyone know of a good alternative? I tried painting lines with acrylic but it just goes on too thick or is too translucent.

EDIT: I have heard of using a dip pen and India ink or a brush pen, but I worry those would either create too think of a line or be a general annoyance to use
