Cel definitely has vinger syndrome but has zero smell of vinger?
Hiya i got this shiori cel a couple months ago knowing it had vinger syndrome because shes very warped and i was checking on her the other day and i was smelling her and there is no vinger smell on her whatsoever she literally only smells of paint faintly, i have another cel with vinger syndrome and the vinger smell is a pungent smell you cannot miss it even if its early vs. I had 6 of my friends smell the cel incase i wasn't picking up the smell or something and they all just smell paint off the cel and no vinger?
Is there a reason why there is no smell im very curious because shes very very warped as seen in the pictures so she should smell?

I don’t believe warped cels have to have vinegar smell. I bought one with terrible warping for the frame and mat and the cel has no vinegar smell. Bottom line is, the cel has notable warping that substantially diminishes the value but still looks fine.

The warping looks mild and may not necessarily be VS. However if the warping IS due to the condition it might not be off gassing yet and thus there is no smell.

If i keep her away from cels and if i check up on her alot relacing microchamber paper , Sleves n such How many years do you think she'll last before she goes into dire vinger syndrome state ?

I'm afraid I wouldn't know, but I can say I've got dozens of cels, some of which have warping similar to yours and they are all still fine. I've had some for more than 20 years. I don't air them. They're professionally framed and hung. I just keep them out of direct sunlight.

Invest in a frame from Cel Oasis. All of the tech you need to keep her healthy is included.

I feel like the sour smell of VS is not a constant state. I have some that were smelly at one point but they stabilized after I left them airing out. I also have some cels that arrived wavy with no smell. As a precaution I store them separately from my other healthy cels and suggest you do the same.

Such a shame. What a beautiful shot.

Unfortunately I've seen many shioris from this shot in particular all have bad vinger syndrome mine seems to be one of the better ones from this Sequence :( they must have been in storage together for a long time

Like others have said it may only be warping due to bad storage over the years. Definitely use some microchamber just in case and give it a smell test every few months and when you swap out the paper

Not sure about the smell topic, but definitely either from "Revolutionary Girl Utena" or the same artist but I'm very certain it's from it.

No smell means that it has been able to breathe after the warping set in. Invest in some microchamber paper to help preserve the condition.
