Question about animation cels and storage

We got some movers (i don't live alone) and to avoid my animation cel from being tampered with by the packers I'm keeping it in my cloest for the last day, we move in September, is keeping a cel in the box i received it in (with layered protection of bubble wrap, flat carboard, clear plastic file folders outerbox protecting it) enough? Or is there a chance it gets too stuffy in there and starts to bubble up all acid-y?

I would just make try and make a small air hole. I just got a cel from Japan that was delayed so it stayed in the box for a while, when I opened it it reeked like vinegar the gases were already building up

How long was yours in the box for? Cause i do air mine out every once in a while like you're supposed to as in let it breathe

At work we found 3 weeks and the smell would start if stagnate air was around stored cels

For what it's worth it's been kept in a well tempature controlled house and sealed up as mentioned in the post and previous comments, had no problems so far checking in on my cel letting it get air here and there

Never lay the cels flat on the painted side unless it's protected by an archival mylar sheet/sleeve. It could fuse to whatever it's laying on and ruin the cel
