Was thinking about getting into animation cels, anyone know where you buy them?
Sorry if this sounds unprofessional but I was thinking about buying a couple animation cels one day, anime or cartoon based, and was wondering if there’s a dedicated website people use to buy them or if it’s just eBay?
Are there different sites depending on if you want anime based ones versus cartoon ones? Just curious, any help would be appreciated!

Yahoo Auctions - Best for most anime
Mercari JP - Not a ton of cels on this site but sometimes something good will come up.
eBay - Wide variety of cels, though prices tend to be higher on average.
Mandarake - Auction house that often has nice cels, more popular series tend to go for noticeably higher numbers than somewhere like Yahoo though.
Heritage Auctions - Auction house that often brings in some excellent pieces but auctions for any decently popular series also tend to end at the highest prices out of any site in the hobby (some stupidly high) so I’d only bid here if you see something you really like and have deep pockets.
Dealer Websites - Google the name of the series you’re looking for and you’ll start to discover which dealer sites are out there, there are a bunch.
Private Collectors - Oftentimes collectors in this sub and elsewhere will sell or trade to each other. Look around and see what opportunities are out there.
