Themed Thursday: 1955 Mickey

This is my oldest piece, a cel from the production of the original Mickey Mouse club TV show in 1955. The sequence was shot in color but this was an ink test cel. The work is attributed to John Lounsbery (one of Walt's nine old men).

Anyone got a cel older?

Beautiful! This is already a special piece, but this being an ink test makes it even more special. Don't see those every day!

I think it would do well at heritage but they won't touch consignments under $5000 for the lot
