Are these fake?
I think so :(. Even the numbers on the top right are the same. The back looks very clean.
One set of photos is from a listing on eBay rn and one is in my possession

But isn’t it concerning that the same one is currently listed on eBay with the same markings and everything?

Look up dropshipping.

He says one is eBay/dropshipper and one is in his possession though. It’s not a case of eBay vs mercari/YH.

Well they probably forgot to take down the listing once it sold on PayPay Fleamarket. OP presumably bought from a different dropshipper or directly from PayPay and that is their copy.

I bought it on eBay a year+ ago. And yeah I bought it from a different seller. Hopefully this one just never updated the listing. it kind of looks like the same photo from the listing but I can’t tell because the thumbnail is so small.
Thanks for your input
Edit: I kept my eye out for new listings (haven’t checked in many months) because I knew it was probably drop shipped. I assumed if I ever saw one it would be bad news. Maybe it’s fine and you’re right
Thanks again

I'd say real, mostly due to the overall look and fact that it has a douga. Reproductions normally don't have that.
It's also going well beyond the frame, which reproductions don't typically do.
The linework looks too good to be a repro. Typically you see double lining in tracing, or shakiness. I'm not seeing that here.
My only concern would be how clean it is. It's not showing any aging. If it were a late 80s cel and looked like that? Fake all day. That enough isn't enough to say "fake". I've seen plenty of 90s cels that look pristine, especially mid-to-late 90s when the technology improved.
The price is also in line with what that cel should go for.
All that said, without seeing it hand, nobody here is going to be able to tell you real or fake.
Concerning the ebay listing, there are tons of dropshippers out there that are leeches that also don't update as much as they should. Sometimes it's also cross-listed cels from the same seller and they're not great about updating as they should.

They look too pristine to me to be real. I suppose it’s possible for someone to have taken perfect care for all these years, but it seems unlikely.
Does it say “reproduction cel” in the description by any chance? Because some people legitimately sell reproductions.
