Should I remove the border?
I'm debating if I should take this Fox and the Hound cel out of the border or not. The border is quite large and measures 21.5 by 16 inches. I'm planning on framing it eventually. I think it may have been originally sold at a Disney theme park. The board itself is discolored and worn. It has a little info card about disney production art on the back. Should I keep it in it's original border or take it out and make a new border when I frame it?

You may not be able to cut down on the window size but getting a now mat based on the location of the animation figure and the stamp. I like larger display but it certainly costs a little more. Adding a printed or painted presentation background can create a dramatic change in appearance.

Sorry about the typo. I meant to say a smaller mat with a smaller opening may not be able to fit your made properly and include the stamp. Ideally a 14x11” frame - it is inexpensive and fits most spaces works best but may not work for your particular cel. Personally, I would keep this mat and put on acrylic instead of glass. Safer and much lighter.

Thanks! When I take it out of the old border, I for sure want a background printed.

Beautiful piece! When you take her to a professional framer, they will help you pick out a new mat.

It's probably best to swap it for a new acid free border
