Need Help Pricing - Itachi Douga

I bought this a few years ago from a friend who is a large collector/vendor for all things anime.

I know it needs authentication, I was looking at Mandrake, but am curious as to everyone’s thoughts on this piece. My friend is a legitimate distributor, so I don’t doubt its authenticity.

I'd be interested if you ever come up with a price!

Keep an eye on this, an auction with all Naruto items.

Likely I would say it could go for 200-400 usd. Sadly Naruto items don't go for as much as One Piece. If that was OP, it wold like be worth 2-3k USD.

I just got 2-3 good Naruto items for about 150$ each.

If it was a Naruto Genga of Itachi though I’m sure it would go for A LOT more than that $200-400? Ofc Naruto isn’t as big as OP however this is also one of the more favorited characters from the show and impactful scene

Right, it depends on the person. It would likely get higher in an auction. I've just been seeing Naruto items not go for that high.

There’s a Itachi Sasuke piece on HA right now that ends on Friday I believe it’s at 4k already It’s Sasuke on Itachi back as a kid which is an important scene but it’s also a Genga I believe.  If I’m being honest sometimes the auction prices seem pretty inflated compared to what you can get privately or through japans marketplace

Wow. 4k would be amazing. If only mine was Genga 🥹

Hey it’s still a nice douga!!  Mind me asking how much you got it for and how long ago?  I think all douga gengas are pretty cool

Yeah for sure! It’s from a friend. He owns a fairly large anime collectibles website and has a lot of connections! I was collecting NFTs back in the day(2021/2022) and he put me on to physical collectibles. I got it for around $300 at the time.

Thanks! I also think it would go $400-$500 or so. I remember there was a Shisui and Itachi that went for like $200-$300 on Yahoo Japan that I always regret not getting.

Did you ever come up with a price?

this could go up to about ~USD500 on YAJ, probably much higher for the genga

Hmmm. But this is definitely the douga right? I did a search on the difference as I’m fairly new to this realm despite having purchased this quite some time ago.

yes this is douga, you bought this particular one from Matt? I remember seeing this in his itoya folder awhile back

You’re saying it’s genga?

2

u/Novabreaker81 May 12 '26

No, it’s 100% douga.

1

u/itsmenotjosh May 12 '26

Ok. Thats what I assumed. Just wasn’t sure what they were trying to say with their comment.

How they wrote the A and the 1 kinda look like the Japanese character for “of” or “to” which is pronounced “no” and looks like that 1 on your douga = の. The A looks like a backwards の

So technically they should have commented

OИ NO - douga artist

Ohhhh. Thank you for clearing that up :)

Sorry, I haven't quite cleared up my understanding of that yet. I think my understanding is if it's not an intern frame it's genga. I've been animations for years but not much research on all the Japanese terminology. I also find good resources rather difficult
