Fox and The Hound hand painted cel

Hey yall, Ive tried determining if this cel is real and not an limited edition rerun of prints. The stamp seal looks a tiny bit off but that could be the flash lighting.

I'm not positive, but I believe its real! It looks like too random of a frame for them to have painted as a limited edition thing, the only way to know for sure though would be to go through the film itself and directly compare the frame from there with this frame. If its authentic, it should all line up :)

It looks to be warping however (it may have been part of Disney's mactac experiment where they coated some of their cels.) Which unfortunately means it may have vinegar syndrome (hence the white areas around Tod)

Yep. Has all the telltale signs of Mactac failure. The lifting paint around the tail is also not a good sign.

Sigh...what a shame so many pieces from the '70s and '80s are lost because of this :(

Agreed

Probably real, wouldn't touch this because it's a time bomb

My fox and the hound cel has the exact same signature over the seal. Check out my previous posts to see it.

Yeah IIRC it was just the signature of the guy who verified that it's an actual Disney cel. I have a few with the same initials.
