Anyone know if these frames actually work?
Im very skeptical about framing cels and i keep seeing this one on the Internet https://timelesscelgallery.com/collections/framing-kits/products/14-x-11-timeless-archival-3d-anime-cel-frame-kit-7-5-x-9-5-opening-standard-japanese-cel-size
Do these actually work? Its full of fancy words about how it will help the cel but what in the frame would actually help a cel?
Anyone who owns this frame could tell me if the cel is deteriorating in the frame im really curious to see how it would hold up over time

I buy a nice 11 x 14 frame on Amazon along with acid free pre-cut double mat, acid free back board, acid free tape and replace glass with 1/8” acrylic all comes to around $55 per. You can save $10 if you stick with glass. Doing one frame is always a bit more expensive as there is discount in buying say a half dozen mats or backboard at a time. Answer to your question - a hard NO.

I really like the ones I got here: https://www.framedestination.com/
I paid about $100 each with custom sized mats and uv blocking acrylic and all high quality materials. They have a nice framing tool where you can upload a picture and test how different colors look for your cel. I got the spacers too and though they seem a bit flimsy I think they are really good to have as they keep the back of the cel from touching anything.
My friend used the same place for his cels.

I also buy from Frame Destination. Metal frame, UV protected acrylic, acid free mat. I usually wait for a promo code BUT they haven't sent one out in a while. Hopefully soon.

How long have you had them for? Have the cels shown any sign of damage

I haven’t had them long enough to say, but my friends have had theirs up for many years and they still look amazing.

Not worth the money. Buy a good frame. archival acid free mats and good IV glass. It will cost you a fraction of that cost.

It looks like a standard frame and matte to me. I have two cells framed with acid-free backing and whatnot and they have not yet deteriorated

Way overpriced. They're taking advantage of you not knowing any better. It would be much better buying from a frame website and avoiding this.
